The Irish government has been complicted in the murder of innocent people for almost a decade now via the wars of aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq. They are completely hypocritical when for so many years they condenmed the acts of murder in the North, but now not only remain slient about these mass murders in far off lands but actively support it through the apparatus of the state in the form of providing resources -Shannon Airport, policing to go with it and of course welcoming back in 2004 the war criminal Bush and more recently Obama. We are supposed to cheer when the US and NATO drop daisy-cutter 4,000 lb bombs or when drones fire missles and say oops! when innocent civilians get killed.
And to counter the propaganda spewed a few weeks ago about the so-called ending of the war in Iraq. It is not over. There are still troops there. And contary to statements at the time of only 64,000 killed as if that was just a few, the figure is well over one million people, as estimated by internationally peer reviewed Lancet study that was done twice to confirm the initial findings. We are so immersed in the propaganda that we have all forgotten our true values and the difference between right and wrong. Fortunately there are a few individuals willing to stick by their convinctions. Below we reproduce a handwritten communication we received from one of the members of the Peace Team that sabotaged a US troop transporter at Shannon warport last Tuesday morning, 20th December 2011. Claiming Our Future is campaigning for the introduction of measures to tax wealth. As you all know it is very important that there is a counter argument to the austerity approach being pursued by government.
The type of tax options that are being proposed include
1. A levy on assets and property worth over €1 million
2. High net worth Irish citizens paying their dues here so that the number of tax exiles decreases
3. Eliminating tax breaks for those with high incomes so that they pay their fair share
4. A levy on financial transactions (Tobin Tax)
5. A higher tax rate on incomes over €100k

The writer of a letter to the Irish Times was surprised when it was published on the 22nd. inst. it was in response to an earlier letter written by a Ms. O'Dwyer expounding the virtue of German efficiency. His letter is reproduced in the full content below. It was expected that there would have been a vigorous response to it, instead no response was published, however two days later, two letters were published in regard to Ms. O'Dwyer original letter. The peculiar aspect to these letters was that they were published under a different heading to the first two letters. I have never seen that happen before despite being a reader of the IT for over twenty years. The writer of the letter is concerned that powerful forces influenced the Irish Times to kill the topic, that is that Germany is involved in a conspiracy so as to bring about a federal Europe through economic manipulation of the economies of the peripheral states of Europe. I'm in Maghaberry because Gerry Adams as OC of the Belfast Brigade sent me to bomb Britain in 1973 when I was 19. But then my memory must be deceiving me. Shell Claus the black pariah of the Claus family is out to take rather than to give. Santa's younger brother has often been compared to Lucifer the dark angel. Rather than give presents, Shell Claus comes to take away what you have and destroy it.
His betrayal of the spirit of thanksgiving often brings Santa to tears.
In Ireland, Shell Claws has come to visit all the houses in the Erris area, offering false gifts to seduce people, but then afterwards betraying even those who give him their trust.

A sketchy report on the Irish Anti-War Movement website states that a U.S. troop carrier plane was attacked and sabotaged at Shannon airport. From other sources I understand that that Omni used this aircraft as a spare and that was parked in a relatively remote area of the airport when disarmed a day or so ago by having its hydraulic or fuel lines severed. read full story / add a comment

Now Michael D has gone a step further from his ceremonial role in supporting war-mongering. He is openly feeding the feel-good factor for the FG-Labour government anti-social economic and political decisions. At a time of extraordinary hardship for the people of Ireland caused by the regressive and pro-business politics of Labour and FG, he comes out to send a Christmas message of "hope" in economic recovery. The response to the legislation on household tax has been very encouraging. A poll taken on Sunday by Newstalk after the launch of the campaign opposing the tax, showed over 70% indicated opposition and a determination not to pay. This is a great start to what will be one of the dominant campaigns in 2012. There will be a consistent and vicious propaganda campaign by the establishment which has already begun. There will be intimidation and pressure on people who can face massive fines if they refuse to register for this charge before the end of March. read full story / add a comment
