international / environment / news report Tuesday March 13, 2007 17:47 by sofia   image 1 image
Marco Camenisch has his sentence reduced by half this morning by a court in Zurich whose decision respected that of the jury. Thus the 17 year sentence which Camenisch began in 2004 is reduced to 8 years. Camenisch will be 66 years of age should he serve the complete sentence for the murder of a Swiss border guard.

Marco Camenisch (born 1952) is an anarchist and ecologist who emerged as a leading figure of a militant anti-nuclear group in Switzerland through the late 1970's to his arrest & trial with one comrade in 1980. The group fought the nuclear power through direct action, cutting pylons and sundry other sabatoge of power plants. read full story / add a comment

Mr Justice Dermot Kinlen is not only a judger but also our splendid Irish republic's Inspector of Prisons.
He is thus one of the few chaps who not only bangs people up but goes & has a look at them later. A pillar of the establishment.

For those in the loop of Irish civil, human & other rights this last year, the recommendation by Dermot Kinlen to allow inmates in Ireland's penal community conjugal visits & rights was seen as sort of a promising thing read full story / add a comment

Professional sexual services for the disabled are well established in several EU states including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark & Sweden. Their development as part of a long-term full recovery strategy & therapy for adults who had lost mobility due to accidents soon expanded to addressing questions of "how do parents of disabled children be that disability mental or physical facilitate full sexual development & maturity?"
The UK first saw co-habitation of young adults with Downes Syndrome with minimal input by either parents or social services in the early 90's. And now the Swiss group "FABS" has started the ball rolling in the Alpine country to provide a "full service" which goes beyond "erotic touching" to full sexual intercourse. read full story / add a comment
4mm thick, 3 metres high and 84 metres long. Padova's council (Italy) wall in their drug addicts.

Favio Zanonato the mayor of Padova, Italy elected as a social democrat has astounded rights groups worldwide and provoked polemic indignation in his own city with what he terms a "temporary measure". A troublesome neighbourhood and its core complex of flats which are home to marginalised migrant groups and native Italian poor with high instances of drug use and sale has been walled.

Construction workers arrived without prior warning and erected in one day a security fence of 4 milimetre thick steel fencing and 3 metres high around the flats. Only one entrance or exit has been left where residents and visitors alike must submit to searches by the police before passing through. read full story / add a comment

It has been long observed that people for some reason on their non-banking days readily absorb shite about Dangerous Places, Famous People, Sensible Saving Options, Holidays, Interesting facts, Sport results, Media, gardening and health as well looking ahead at “upcoming issues” including the future.

In this issue 've only been able to weave together :-
Dangerous Places - Famous People -
Sensible Saving Options & Health. read full story / add a comment
