Following his Requisition for a Sworn Publin Enquiry into Corruption in Ireland on the 28 Jan 2012 Daniel Doherty was jailed on the 24 Feb 2012, once again without any summons or court hearing. This has happened to him on at least 7 occasions and has been done to keep him quiet. Minister Shatter you have a lot of work to do to clear up the corruption in the legal and justice system. After the Carndonagh and Derry screenings, the Josh Fox documentary 'Gasland http://www.gaslandthemovie.com/' was shown in the Letterkenny Regional Cultural Centre last week. A group of locals in the Inishowen area have become concerned about plans of the central government to extract gas of shale formations by a method called "fracking". Showing the Emmy Award winning documentary, Gasland is seen as an appropriate event for raising awareness. read full story / add a comment

The Living Wage Campaign was lauched today in City Hall. It is calling for a Living Wage of 10 euro an hour as the minimum rate that any employees of companies awarded public contracts should be paid. Crumlin based Cllr. Eric Byrne has submitted a motion to Dublin City Council calling for contracts only to be given to companies that pay a Living Wage. The campaign launch was supported by Mick O Reilly of the ATGWU, Jack O Connor of SIPTU, Labour Youth, Joanne Delaney and Pat rabbitte T.D. leader of the Labour Party. read full story / add a comment
