She goes there in honour after four friends testified on her behalf. One of them told the court that in a future nuclear holocaust when stricken children would ask their dying parents 'why didn’t somebody stop this, while we still had a chance to stop it? In the past week an unprecedented amount of community support has been shown to the squatters of a NAMA property in Grangegorman, Dublin 7. The 6th year class from the Educate Together primary school which shares a wall with the squatters spent their yard break creating a 'Save Our Squatters' petition which the entire class signed. read full story / add a comment

Irish greyhounds and dogs of all breeds with their owners will be meeting in Dublin City Centre on Sunday June 19th for the first “Walk for the Greyhounds”, which has been organised to promote greyhounds as family pets. Hundreds of two legged and four legged walkers are expected from all over Ireland, the UK, and other European countries. Walkers will meet at 12 noon, near the Fusilliers Arch at St Stehen’s Green. Last weekend saw in excess of a hundred young republican activists, gather at the Felons Club in Belfast for the Ógra Shinn Féín national congress. East Down Ogra Shinn Fein played a key role in Easter parades across the county, including Newcastle, Castlewellan and Downpatrick. The Ogra colour party lead the parade in Newcastle and Downpatrick and followed the senior colour party in the Castlewellan march. The colour party consisting of activists from Kilcoo, Newcastle and Ballynahinch proudly marched in commemoration of Irelands patriot dead and sought to show to the public that Irelands youth would continue to play a pivotal role in the struggle for re-unification. read full story / add a comment |
