The Minister for the Environment Mr. John Gormley was today urged to immediately suspend the licence he granted earlier in the autumn to the Ward Union Stag Hunt following a serious incident last Friday when a deer being hunted by the Ward Union was chased onto the main road between Ashbourne and Slane. The deer, which was hit by an on-coming Mercedes, was seriously injured and had to be put down at the scene. It had been seen exiting Seamus Dardis’s farm having begun its chase from Huntsman Pat Coyles premises. read full story / add a comment

END the pathetic conditions for over 20 animals, including a Pregnant donkey in FUNTASIA’s noisy rooftop Petting Farm.
A noisy amusement and casino establishment in Bettystown has airlifted (by CHERRYPICKER) over 20 animals onto its roof in an effort to attract more clientele to its arcade and boost profits at 3 euro a head.
Funtasia last week got many of these animals from Jesse Callaghan, a farmer in Lunderstown, Duleek to use as a spectacle for the roof farm on their two story building. Chicken wire, plywood and a fully cemented roof is all that was provided by way of accommodation for a variety of animals including:
A pregnant Donkey in poor condition.... read full story / add a comment

The battle to save Rath Lugh continues against all odds, the past week as seen SIAC construction company erect huge metal spiked fencing along the route, whilst they continue to bulldose the esker of the Ancient Monument within the so called "protection zone".
Here is a short video that shows some of the activities going on since the NRA drew back on the ten point signed agreement with a tunnel protester.

It’s a little darker under the trees than the last time I was here and the colors of Autumn have started there march through the leaves at Rath Lugh. This hill here was never put on an ordnance survey map and the name has shifted and been shifted until it now means only a small monument which may soon disappear. It can be seen from everywhere in the valley, it has been here throughout all of Tara’s history yet details about it are sketchy and it appears only briefly in ancients writings. One of the monuments on its roof has been temporary preserved but which one is unsure. This is after years of planning a road around it, destroying a part of it and then trying to protect it. Due to the advance of the M3 everything in the valley has been documented, mapped and numbered except this hill and now its woods, monuments, graves and spring are snared and encircled by a speculator driven, badly planned and unwanted road.
