The onset of the peace process promised an end to Unionist control over the RUC and an equal society for all? U Dhammaloka was a Dublin-born migrant worker who became a Buddhist monk in colonial Burma. A fire-breathing atheist, his attacks on Christian missionaries challenged the imperial order in recently-conquered Burma.
