YOUTH FORUM: LABOUR CANDIDATE Michael D Higgins comfortably won over an audience of young people at a presidential youth forum in Dublin at the weekend, to which all seven candidates had been invited, but just five attended.
While Dana “just declined the invitation” to the SpunOut.ie Youth Rising forum, Fine Gael candidate Gay Mitchell “cancelled at the last minute”, according to organiser Ruairí McKiernan.
“I’m pretty disappointed in him. This was organised three months ago and last night he said he had to go to Cork instead. I think it says a lot about his attitude.”

October 29th is the big day in our campaign to push for Ireland to update it's outdated 100 year old Protection of Animals Act. We need new, proper, meaningful and modern legislation that reflects society's treatment towards animals and whilst this will be a tough challenge to achieve, we're deadly pressed to ensure we fight as hards as possible. read full story / add a comment

Prasad Pereira obstructs the use of a national monument for the disappeared in Sri Lanka. Due to the unwise and unfriendly actions of Fr. Dublin Community Growers, Food Action, and Latin American Solidarity Centre are hosting a night of coming together and conversation on November 3rd in Seomra Spraoi.. Starting at 7pm, a vegan meal will be provided, followed by a film about seed-saving and biodiveristy. Later there will be discussion on food sovereignty in Europe and Ireland.
