The US Propaganda machine, realising that the illegal war on Iraq has proved to be the nemesis they have so long avoided, are now desperate to shift blame. and in the process prepare a "do Iran" situation. I would like to remind you that Iranians were invited to "do Iraq" by the US machine in December of 2002, which is the point at which I believe "the war" began if only in "covert mode". read full story / add a comment

Big issue today. Help the 246,000,000 children under 14 years of age who daily compete with the workers of Ireland who can't go protesting to earn less than an average of 40cents. Eurocents at that! Barcelona Forum 2004 has been declared open, and now we all over have the God Given Right blessèd by the King of Spain to tell you all how to sort out your problems. As long as we don't spoil his son's wedding, there's cake for everyone, except the protesters who take time off work over here, and don't know how Universal Dialogue is supposed to be done. read full story / add a comment

More than a year ago, we united to try and stop a War (for Oil on Iraq). And perhaps through our efforts we stopped many states from being involved in that War. We are still obliged to do our best to stop that War. More than a year ago, a war against the West became very apparant. We may all hold our opinions on the causes of that War. We are obliged to do our best to stop that War as well. I'ts called the War on Terror. We are obliged to stop the Terror. More than a generation ago, a war began in the Levant, it has touched our country, it has touched everyone. We are obliged to do our best to stop that War as well by something we call the Middle East Peace Process. read full story / add a comment

I have long noticed that on sundays I have more free time. I like to see my friends if I can, and share a cup of tea or coffee and reflect on how irrelevant we are to the world of the great. If i can i listen to music and I also play it, and I think of poetry, the river of my nation which shall always be flowing into the universe. Today I'm not going to be hysterical nor moved by the flows of emotion I have seen in my home (Spain) as the people have come to their own terms with what happened to us as an extended community. It is time I realised the potential of my own words to disturb, to confuse, and thus to be more _careful_. Writers too often are no more than their readers' prejudices. read full story / add a comment

It has long been valued that on their non-banking days people are pretty much the same as when they work, graft, toil and sweat. Except they have less money making opportunities. This facilitates their increased participation in their society as citizens and nationals of the Civilised World. "We are not seeking the overthrow or opposition to President Aristide the way the opposition is, that has bought us a great deal of invective," he explained. "On the other hand, we can hardly give marvellous grades to the government performance on a number of areas such as disarmament as we would have wanted." He did point out that President Aristide was not opposed to holding elections and has called for the opposition to use channels open to them to bring about peace in Haiti. He said that the opposition's current stance could take the country to civil war however, President Aristide could prevent this. ************** So it began. But the above is not really true as you probably have guessed. Aristide _must go_, and our governments must pressure him to go. NOW. 500,000 people in Haiti are suffering from malnutrition the situation is critical. read full story / add a comment

The post mayday 2004 Europe of 450,000,000 shall see established a very different balance between RC and Lutheran, Calvinist, Humanist, Anglican, and Orthodox than at any point since the collapse of the Hapsburg empire. And in the lead-up the most powerful RC churches are quite obviously attempting to stop any increased "secularisation" which ought be inevitable. We ought now consider the effects on certain rights issues which are very dear to the indymedia family, such as :- "a woman's right to choose", the right to be "gay", the right to "divorce", the right to "sex education", & the right to "secularisation" of both legislature and exectuive and education. read full story / add a comment

We in Ireland, know the importance of dialogue to conflict resolution. And we don't really need long complex explanations. The democratically elected and formed tripartite government of Catalonia is under serious attack from Madrid and Europe this morning, the leader of the Republicans has resigned his role as "quasi-minister of foreign affairs". One which was central to the increased role of Catalonia in Europe and it's right to percieved as a nation though one without state. This morning the Irish Citizen EU official Mr Cox refused to meet Josep Carod Rivera, because yesterday the leader of the ERC had a meeting with representatives of ETA. Mr Cox awaits "confirmation" of the ERC's attitutude to terrorism. read full story / add a comment
