Today up to 3,000 people march in Dublin in solidarity with the people of Gaza who have suffered a week of Israeli air-strikes that have killed over 430 people and left over 2,000 injured, and who now face the threat of a full scale ground invasion. The protest called for an immediate end to Israeli attacks and war crimes, and an end to the criminal siege on Gaza. During the course of the protest news came via a link up to Gaza that the Israeli military had begun firing artillery along the Gaza border. The protest was loud, colourful and angry. read full story / add a comment ![]()

Readers of Indymedia Ireland have a short time to take advantage of global lapses in copyright infringement to enjoy the movie "Religulous" on the Chinese video sharing website "megavideo". That site will of course be forced to remove the vid within the next fortnight, but ye've time for now. & not pay a penny, sheckel, talent or centimo of a Euro, Dollar or reconstituted Reichsmark for it. Religulous is a 2008 American comedy/documentary film written by and starring political comedian Bill Maher and directed by Larry Charles. According to Maher, the title of the film is a portmanteau derived from the words "religion" and "ridiculous"; the documentary examines and satirizes organized religion and religious belief. read full story / add a comment ![]()

Dear Ambassador Further to my telephone call to your office this morning I wish to reiterate some of the points which I made in the conversation with your secretary, and to elaborate on them a little further 1 I am sick to the teeth of the lies you are telling on RTE and in the Irish media about what is happening in Gaza. Israel has killed over 400 people there on the pretext that a cease-fire had been broken unilaterally by Hamas. You know this is not true. 2 You said that Israel is trying to avoid civilian casualties but that Hamas place their civilians as shields for Hamas soldiers. You know that this is not true. Gaza is smaller in area than our smallest County, Louth, and is over-populated with 1.4 million people before your country reduced the population with murder from the sky. 3 Your Army invaded Gaza prior to en election and in the interregnum between the Presidencies of George W Bush and Barack Obama. The Association of Hunt Saboteurs (AOHS) today witnessed the chased stag at 1pm distressed and disorientated on a road whilst trying to evade the hounds. Regulations set by the Dept of the Environment state the stag must have a 2 kilometer or 30 minute head start. Despite this at 1pm , an hour into the hunt ,the hounds were no more than two minutes behind the distressed animal in Rolestown Co Dublin. Roads were blocked by hunt cars necessitating u- turns of other vehicles and hounds were out of control and ‘rioting’ (hunt term). read full story / add a comment |
