Search engines have come to dominate our lives and Google which is by far the best known has by far the largest marketshare estimated to be anything from 70% to 90%. These search engines have become powerful tools for the corporations owning them as it gives them immense power to shape peoples lives since they control the algorithm controlling what you see when you search the news, check facts or try to search for information which they exclude from the search results because it does not suit their agenda. They also know incredible amounts about their users from their preferences, political leanings, lifestyles, ailments, age, location holiday preferences and practically every other aspects of them. It is time we took our privacy back and with the launch of a new decentralized and community based search engine called PreSearch.org there is now a chance that the tide is turning. read full story / add a comment

The murder of Floyd is not a once-off incident. Last year 1,099 people were killed by the US police, of which a sizeable proportion are black. 99% of these murders remain in absolute impunity –an alarming impunity rate only rivalled by the likes of Colombia in the continent, which goes to demonstrate how police violence, far from an anomaly, is condoned by the US establishment. By all of it, whether Republican or Democrat. read full story / add a comment

PRESS RELEASE. No Embargo. www.veganireland.org vegansireland@gmail.com Vegan Ireland press number: 086 100 6763 “Do You Eat Carrots?” Vegan Ireland asks Matt Cooper and Joe Duffy to go vegan Recently both popular presenters made surprising statements about veganism on their radio shows. For example, during discussions last Tuesday (3/1/12) about the recent Rachel Allen shooting pheasants issue, Matt stated that if he were a vegan he’d be starving, while Joe asked a vegan if he ate carrots and whether he’d be happy then if pheasants were captured and killed humanely. Discovering that vegans did not have milk from cows in their tea, Joe said, “Ah, mother of God, how do you survive?” Joe Duffy Show: http://www.rte.ie/radio/ Matt Cooper, “The Last Word”: http://media.todayfm.com/ read full story / add a comment

Czech authorities ordered a former Ku Klux Klan leader, David Duke, to leave their country at midnight yesterday. The 59-year-old American had been invited to the Czech Republic by a local far-right group to give lectures in the University of Charles social sciences department, promote a book, and foment the agenda. But on Friday he was arrested and questioned by police on suspicion of denying the Holocaust, an offence under Czech law, however he was not charged since he had not actually denied the Holocaust publically on Czech soil at that point. Today responding to internet social group messages, neonazi's who had been due to converge on Prague to hear him speak appeared to change their mind and offer low key solidarity with David Duke. read full story / add a comment

Brian Lenihan’s emergency supplementary bludget brings the curtain down on Ireland’s pantomime of excess. The workforce in Ireland willingly accepted twelve years of wage slavery when the goodies compensated for the grind, and the illusion of perpetual growth became the powerful myth underpinning the new consumer religion. More unreckonable years of wage slavery or welfare dependence await, as the personal and public debts accumulated during the boom must be paid for. read full story / add a comment

The are illegal under the wildlife act (approved traps, snares and nets) regulations 2003. However the sale or possession of these traps will have to be monitored to eradicate them completely. So far Atlantic,Swords and Murtaghs Co Meath , among other rural stores have removed them immediately when told by us that they were illegal. We appreciate their cooperation.-most are imported and they are also openly for sale still on the internet .AFAR members will be reporting all shops selling them . read full story / add a comment
