Important Campaign to be launched early May. ‘Hands Off the People of Iran’ has been set up on the initiative of Iranian organisations and individuals and has now support internationally. Its aim is to oppose any attack on Iran and at the same time give Solidarity to the fight of the Iranian people against that repressive regime. The campaign has contacts with students, Workers and women’s organisations In Iran. These movements are firmly against any US military attack or intervention. Saturday 3rd March will see anarchists from Ireland, Britain and Poland meeting up for planning and socialisng at the 2nd Dublin anarchist bookfair in the Teachers club, 36 Parnell square. Taking part in the discussiosn will be dissident republicans, Shell to Sea campaigners and anti-war activists. The Workers Solidarity Movement held its Autumn 2006 National conference in Seomra Spraoi, a social centre in Dublin. The conference saw around two thirds of the membership attending with greetings sent from our comrades involved in the struggle in Rossport. National Conference opens with questioning the reports given by various office holders, editorial committees etc. A summary of these reports follows - quite a lot of details and indeed areas involving relationships with other groups have been removed, as these were not written for public consumption. read full story / add a comment

Israeli violence against the people of Lebanon and Palestine has continued unabated today. This afternoon, Anti-War Ireland issued the following statement calling for an extension of Irish Solidarity with those suffering in this conflict. More specifically, AWI believes that this is an instance when international Solidarity is essential between the working class of Europe, and elsewhere, and Workers and their families in the Middle East. The RSYM declares its intention to work towards National Liberation and Socialist Revolution.
