British doctors working in Gaza have described the territory as a ?slaughterhouse,? where the patients they are treating are severely malnourished.

Plastic surgeons and orthopedic specialists from the UK are based at the Amal and Nasser hospitals in Khan Younis in the south of the territory.

Dr. Tom Potokar, a plastic surgeon specializing in burn injuries, has worked in Gaza 16 times but said this mission had revealed a level of destruction far greater than his last visit in 2023,

Animal rights group call on Environment minister to discontinue Stag- hunt licensing,

The AOHS are issuing a renewed call for the Ward Union’s hunting license to be revoked by the Minister Dick Roche.

‘ In the aftermath of this weeks serious safety risk to children, the terror and ultimate death of a hunted stag , the property damage and disruption of a small village due to stag hunting, we want stag hunting ended permanently now.’

Minister Roche is responsible for issuing the permit to the Ward Union to hunt stag, which really is an exemption to the Wildlife Act, granted to Ireland’s one and only Carted Stag Hunt Club read full story / add a comment

At our meeting today, the members of the Glasgow branch of the Republican Prisoners’ Action Group agreed unanimously to support the repatriation to the Free State of Noel Maguire who is the only remaining Irish political prisoner still incarcerated in an English jail. 'Pet' or companion animals are left out in the cold by politicians as there is no government minister with responsibility for their protection and welfare. This has implications for all 'pet' owners as well as abandoned animals and the groups that rescue them.

While Ireland has led the way in relation to other issues, we are way behind the rest of Europe when it comes to the treatment of our animals. In order for us to truly take our place among the 'civilised' countries of the world, this needs to be addressed now. read full story / add a comment
