The October Fifth Association, a global network of 1968 civil rights' veterans and supporters, since the death of Capt. James J. Kelly, although acquitted in the Arms Trials of the early 1970s, is campaigning to clear his name of any wrong-doing. Co-accused, a former Stormont MLA, who quit Sinn Féin, John Kelly (no relation) and the Captain's widow Sheila, recently contacted the media to express their support. The civil rights' vets will launch an International petition on St. Patrick's Day via a CKJCampaign website, which can be located on www.captainkelly.org OR www.captkelly.org The captain's widow, family members and friends have already viewed the website and signed the the international petition, which is accompanied by other features such as a 'Photo Gallery', and campaign press reports. A press conference is scheduled to be held in a Derry hotel in the next 2-4 weeks. Further details from the CR Vets, via oct5th_vets68@hotmail.com read full story / add a comment ![]()
