The demonstration will assemble at 2pm at the Garden of Remembrance and from there will march to the Department of Foreign Affairs on St. Stephen's Green. Dr David Landy, Chairperson of the IPSC said: "We are calling on the Irish public, civil society and all political parties to support us in this demonstration that will welcome home the Irish heroes of the Freedom Flotilla who were kidnapped at sea in an act of Israeli piracy, while their comrades were murdered. It is vitally important that the Irish public come out on the streets and show their support and solidarity with the Freedom Flotilla and the besieged people of Gaza. We look forward to hearing the prisoners' stories of their experiences free of the spin of the Israeli PR machine." |

Lets do it, all of us everywhere in our own places, together as a global body in rage, taking direct action together to show israel and the international community that we are behind Rachel Corrie and that together we will break their siege

Best-selling Swedish author of “Wallander”, Henning Mankell, who was aboard the ship Swedish-registered aid ship “Sofia” and amongst those apprehended, says he’s shocked by the barbarity of Israel's military methods; http://theforeigner.no/pages/news/mankell-they-only-fou...azor/
I fully support the day of action. But I would shift point (5) to pole position.Expulsion of the ambasador should have come after the passport shit. That was and is an act of aggression against our citizens globally. The logic of Israel's blind contempt for any semblance of legal restraint on its ambitions grow more dangerous with every stroke appeased. They are heading for a nuclear strike on Iran if Obama does not wake up(or is that what washington wants and is maneuvering towards?)Full spectrum Gulf dominance anyone?Might even keep China in its crate.
What about recalling Irish minister from Israel? South Africa have done it and it seems so has Turkey and NIcaragua

Ecuador, June 3, (Pal Telegraph) Head of Ecuador’s state, Rafael Correa, declared last night that he withdraw his country's ambassador from "Israel" for consultations, following the fleet of freedom massacre committed by the Israeli entity against peaceful people carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The President Correa said: "The ambassador should leave Tel Aviv immediately, in protest against the attack on the fleet of freedom, which led to the killing and wounding of civilians. Nicaragua decided on Wednesday to freeze the diplomatic relations with" Israel.

I am going to be there, with my flags and placards tomorrow. We need to keep up the pressure on the government to act. Strong words are not enough, we need action.
The IPSC should be commended for organising this protest.
Cheers,
Tom
The IPSC doesn’t have a list of the names of the murdered activists on their site as of yet .I realise that the IPSC is very busy organising events , but surely the names of these martyrs deserve to be honoured . Funerals of eight of the murdered Turkish nationals took place yesterday in Istanbul’s Faith Mosque in a ceremony attended by thousands .
Their names are.
Ibrahim Bilagen
Ali Haydar Bengi
Cevdet Kiliçlar
Çetin Topçuoglu
Necdet Yildirim
Fahri Yaldiz
Cengiz Songür
Cengiz Akyüz
The youngest of the murdered peace activists, 19-year-old Furkan Dogan - who was born in the US but moved to Turkey as a child - is being buried in his hometown of Kayseri in central Turkey today .

All honor to the heroic defenders of the Gaza Flotilla!
The Madmen running the Zionist terror state of Israel tried to slander the heroic defenders of the Mavi Marmara, who, surprised by the massive Israeli terror assault in the wee hours of the morning, courageously rushed to defend their ship, sailing legally in International waters, from this vicious and illegal attack. These brave men and women who defended the Mavi Marmara placed their lives in the balance against a phalanx of trained, professional killers, and disarmed several of these would-be murderers and probably saved the lives of dozens of their comrades by sacrificing their own lives for their fellow passengers! The workers of the world salute these heroes of the international working class!
This slander that the passengers on the Mavi Marmara were "terrorists" was repudiated by every decent human being in the world - and even by some not-so-decent-human beings, like the leaders of Turkey, with the blood of the Kurds on their hands; or the leaders of Egypt, who have been complicit in the blockade of Gaza for years!
The only solution to the crisis in Gaza is that the Palestinian workers, the Israeli workers, join hands and fight to overthrow both the Zionist terrorist government in Tel Aviv as well as the Hamas Islamic woman-hating regime in Gaza! For a Socialist Federation of the Near East!

USA
You indicate your location as USA.While you were giving it all for the bloody hands of Turkey and Egypt and Israel and all stations east, you sort of overlooked the minor fact that all of these regimes are deeply indebted to your country of residence. As long as Washington continues to sabotage every effort of smaller weaker nations to do the long slow work of building democratic institutions (get your hands on Legacy of Ashes by Tim Weiner for an up to date on CIA subversion and manipulation globally,or Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine for an intro to economic warfare a la Pax Amerikkkana). And do tone down the commie jargon. The Russian and Chinese exemplars sort of took the gloss off that strain of 'progress'.
Research and publicise the manipulation of Uncle Sam by its clients in Tel Aviv through Zionist lobby groups while you are waiting for the workers of the world to get around to noticing that its not the Arabs or the Jews are the source of their problems. And remind your neighbours that the ordinary gullible German was as fond of displaying and parading his Swastika in 1930's Deutchland as they are of running up and saluting Old Glory stars and stripes. No offence intended.
