offsite link Debunking the Cheap Renewables Myth Thu May 16, 2024 15:44 | David Turver
Renewables are not cheap and are never going to be, says David Turver. With over £12 billion being paid in subsidies to or because of renewables each year, the claim that renewable will save us money is a myth.

The Guardian's Marina Hyde has mocked Russell Brand for his baptism in the Thames. It's easy to scoff, says James Alexander, but at least Brand, like his new religion, is trying to find the truth.

offsite link Fanatics Call for Climate ?Deniers? to Be Jailed Thu May 16, 2024 09:00 | Chris Morrison
Comedy environmentalist Jim Dale and Dale Vince have both suggested that climate 'denial' should be a criminal offence. Is this desperation because it's becoming so obvious the evidence is against them?

Documentary and debate with LASC and Choice Ireland.
rosa.jpg

This event has since been postponed until early October

A 9 year-old Nicaraguan girl living in Costa Rica was sexually abused in 2003 and, as a result of the attack, got pregnant. This documentary is a testimony of the struggle of her family to get an abortion and the sharp opposition they faced from the Catholic Church, who excommunicated everyone in the family and everyone involved in the case –but the rapist!

This documentary is about double standards, about abuse, about sexism and about how the lives of ordinary people are ruined by those with power. It deals with the heart of the debate around the right of women to terminate an unwanted pregnancy and how their body is turned into a political battlefield.

The documentary will be introduced by Victoria Díaz García

WHEN: September 18th, 19:00 o’clock

WHERE: Pearse Centre, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2
