press release
Friday October 12, 2007 19:18 by Oisín - ÓSF 0879153106
On the 4th of October the National Executive of Batasuna, the Basque independence party, were arrested by the Spanish police at a meeting in Segura. This represents a great disrespect on thepart of the Spanish Government for the crisis prone Basque peace process and the fact that it is still their firm belief that the Basque people have no right to freedom and democracy. Tomorrow, 13th of October at 1pm, the Irish Basque Solidarity Committee in conjunction with Ógra Shinn Féin will hold a protest outside the GPO to highlight the injustice of these arrests and the continued repression of nationalists in the Basque country. |
