It seems that Enid Blyton was way ahead of the curve when it came to understanding the tearing of society apart by compelling everyone to join in the madness to be the same and using Stasi-like police as enforcers.

Ploughshares Activists Arrested Carrying Out Citizens Inspection on Board Plane at Prestwick Aiport

category international | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Monday August 07, 2006 12:50author by Ploughshares Support Report this post to the editors

A number of Trident Ploughshares activists were arrested in the early hours of this morning on plane at Prestwick Airport, Scotland.

The nonviolent anti-war group were carrying out a citizens inspection of an aircraft while investigating covert British co-operation in the ongoing Israeli bombing of Lebanon. One of those arrested was twice acquitted Angie Zelter of the "Seeds of Hope" & "Loch Goil" Ploughshares and a founding member of the Trident Ploughshares campaign.

U.S. bomb deliveries to Israel have been recently diverted from Shannon Airport to Prestwick. The Trident Ploughshares campaign of nonviolent direct action at the nuclear submarine base in Faslane, Scotland is presently being explored by Irish anti-war activists as a model for a campaign to demilitarise Shannon Airport.

See link below for a more detailed account of this morning's anti-war action at Prestwick......

BEIRUT, Lebanon - The Lebanese prime minister said one person was killed in an Israeli air raid Monday in the southern border village of Houla, lowering the death toll from 40. Prime Minister Fuad Saniora said at a news conference that he had based the initial tally on unspecified information that he had received.

He offered no other explanation for the error.

Maybe it was a lie, maybe it was a mistake...hard to keep stats when you're getting your basic infrastructure blown to shite.

It's a bit like the guy whose father dies on a Friday.
He's walking down the street on the Saturday and this guy stops him and says "Are you ok?"

He replies, "My father died at 3pm yesterday!"

And the guy retorts "Oh I thought it was at 2pm! "

A bit like your response LINK,
you both miss the point!

Yeh RIGHT, that he happened to say it at the Arab conference with tears steaming down his face IS the point

It was a blatent LIE

YOU missed the point my friend

You also miss the point that 12,000 odd rockets trundled from Iran to Lebanon THROUGH Northern Lebanon and the government of the day didnt notice any of em coming down.

These rockets are quite large my friend
The lebanese government have noone else to blame but themselves for the predicament they face

THEY ARE COMPLICIT

Well with that type of attitude nobody is innocent hence all must die.

I would hate to live under your inhumane ideology.

When it comes to lying it is hard to beat the Israeli cabinet minister who announced on the Today program that Israel obeyed by all international rules and regulations. Israel has ignored 56 UN resolutions. As cherries on the top Israeli PR has floated the stories that they have a "humanitarian" section in their main War Ops room and that pilots drop their bombs deliberately off target just in case there are any kids down there.

They did again, just like at Shannon the airport police told everyone it was secure and the group were arrested quickly yet another group walked on to two USAF chartered planes to see what it was carrying because Blair won't.

From south Africa, to Florida, and California, and currently the top story on the web version of Stars and Stripes. So these brave acts of non-violent resistance to war will reach awide audience, including thousands of serving US military personnel. Food for thought indeed.

Stars and Stripes confirms that the protestors entered a C-130 of the 166th Airlift wing.

the Pentagon might want to rethink their policy of using civilian airports for their wars. Sure, they make pretty good backdrops for photo ops, but you can't guarantee that peaceniks won't disrupt your war effort at a civilian facilitiy.

More cops have been posted to Prestwick and Shannon.

Just got word, the Prestwick people have been acquitted on a technicality. The Crown failed to prove that the pentagon had not provided permission to board the planes.
