Labour has appointed Becky Francis, an intersectional feminist, to rewrite the national curriculum, which it will then force all schools to teach. Prepare for even more woke claptrap to be shoehorned into the classroom.

Finglas Anti Bin Tax Campaign swings into action

category dublin | bin tax / household tax / water tax | news report author Friday January 20, 2006 13:00author by bIn buster Report this post to the editors

The Finglas Anti Bin Tax Campaign has swung into action as part of a city wide, coordinated, response to Dublin City Council’s threat to impose non-collection throughout the city. Despite the Council’s propaganda only a tiny number of households have had non-collection imposed on them so far and no area where there is a strong local anti bin tax campaign has been affected.

Last night over 80 people turned up at public meeting in Finglas village, called at very short notice, to plan the actions to be taken in the coming days. The City Council, in an outrageous attack on the right to free assembly, had contacted the management of the pub where the meeting was held, threatening to fine the owners a €1000 for the erection of posters advertising the meeting. This blatant attempt to force a cancellation of the meeting failed but it is an indication of how low the Council is prepared to go in its attempts to undermine the campaign.

This morning around 20 members of FABTC blocked a bin truck for about an hour in the Wellmount area of Finglas West, as a symbolic action to indicate our determination to resist non-collection if and when it is imposed in Finglas. At 3.00pm this afternoon anti bin tax campaigners from Finglas and Ballymun will gather at the Civic Centre in Ballymun, where the monthly meeting of the City Council's North West Area Committee is being held, to protest the Council's attempt to ban our public meeting.

First i would just like to say well done to the people involved in orginising last nights meeting . who do the Dublin City Council think they are trying to stop the residance of Finglas from having their say. I rang the Finglas office of D.C.C. to enquire who it was who tryed to have the meeting stoped last night. I was told it was a man called BOB Ward when i asked to speak to him i was told he was not avabile , if i left my number he would get back to me,i bet he will. i will be blunt when i say ,this it is time for all of us who are not paying our stelth tax bin charges
to get out there and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people who have kept this campaining going on our behalf . remember that every meeting that was held in Finglas gave that strong band of people in the FINGLAS ANTI BIN TAX CAMPAINING the tumbs up to keep things going untill this houre when it would be our turn to stand up and be counted. Its up to us NOW.

See bin, thats the marvel of free open media. You can express your doubts about the daily ireland piece, but it's veracity can then be vouched for by other people with more information. And so we can dispel your doubts and arrive at an approximation of the truth.

I was at both the Drimnagh and Crumlin meetings mentioned in the Daily Ireland article and i don't think the estimates of 200 and 400 are too far off. Thats hundreds. Thats two small localities across the city. The pics are available on the site

http://indymedia.ie/article/74062

along with a pic of the demonstration at Davitt road. As the council attempts to creep out of the leafier avenues and into the estates where the campaign is based, the key question is will we continue to see hundreds of people not just meeting but acting, in concert, all across the city.

Come along to City hall on Monday with a camera and help dispel your doubts.
