The person who posted this should have written a short summary telling us what the man was charged with plus a brief outline of the case. A short synopsis (in html) on the site would also be useful.
Latest info on Joe Warren....
He now holds a Canadian Government signed letter proving his innocence!
Joe Warren has spent 21 years in prison for a murder he did not commit.
Joe Warren was framed by a paid informant, by a man who was later convicted with falsifying evidence.
There was no evidence. Yet he was convicted.
Another man (Savard) is currently doing 25 years for the same murder.
Joe has spent his days studying law.
He has uncovered some fundamental flaws in our justice system, such as the non-reinstatement of the habeas corpus. (Latin for "Show Me The Body").
The habeas corpus was suspended in the FLQ years, and not reinstated until Joe Warren pushed it through from his prison cell.
After its reinstatement, Joe's application for early parole went missing... some sort of a mail mix-up which caused his application to miss the application deadline.
They only come up every 2 years.
All they asked was for Joe to confess to this crime and he could leave.
But Joe did not commit the crime, so in his cell he remained.
Joe was released November 16, 2004
He wants to make sure that every Canadian knows what can happen in the Canadian Justice System... a very flawed system.
