offsite link Is the Era of Cheap Internet Surveys Over? Sat Nov 22, 2025 15:00 | Noah Carl
Is the era of cheap internet surveys over? A new paper demonstrates that AIs can now be "trivially programmed" to answer online surveys in ways that are essentially indistinguishable from humans.

We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

Arnold and de Power Pirate's $9 Billion

category international | politics / elections | news report author Wednesday October 08, 2003 12:48author by Pax-Americana Report this post to the editors

Arnold Schwarzenegger's meeting with Ken Lay of Enron fame, at the posh Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel in May of 2001, in the midst of California's energy crisis is every bit as scandalous as his manhandling of women during his career as celebrity he-man.

The new governor has yet to deny that on May 17, 2001, at the Peninsula Hotel in Los Angeles, he had consensual political intercourse with Enron chieftain Kenneth Lay. Also frolicking with Arnold and Ken was convicted stock swindler Mike Milken.

It turns out that Schwarzenegger knowingly joined the hush-hush encounter as part of a campaign to sabotage a Davis-Bustamante plan to make Enron and other power pirates then ravaging California pay back the $9 billion in illicit profits they carried off.

But important, I think. There were 40 other people in the room when he met Ken Lay. Hardly a private tete á tete.

Nice try Chickenboy, you nearly had a scoop.

Not 40 but 11 Lazoor, see below.

http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/utilities/pr/pr003708.php3

"The documents provide a list of invitees to the hastily arranged meeting and a list of those who actually attended. Only eleven of the 45 invitees attended, including Schwarzenegger. The meeting was meant to be an opportunity to gain business community support for Enron's "comprehensive solution" to the energy crisis. In one e-mail, Enron's VP of Public Relations wrote: "We'd like to position this meeting as an insider's conversation of what's going on with the energy situation. This meeting should be for principals only." (emphasis in original)"

i've been reading Celine, turning off the tv, turning up the beauty of the new High Llamas release and letting go...
The Bush spin team has clinched it, the Schwarzenegeer win will indeed bolster the republican bandwagon for next years presidential re-election...
yeah... sure, things will get better in Cali, for the short term, as the reps have blatantly withheld funds/aid to a democrat led state, and now that'll come flooding in... for a short while... but this and the Texas re-districting is where it's really happening, folks...
Did you know...? since the Bush bro's grip on Tex/Florida (pre 2000 vote), trailer-park residents can no longer register to vote? yeah... make your puns... but think how many people in those two states live in trailer parks...
i think this whole Cali recall bullshit was best put today on NPR... when asked by an interviewer why he voted for Arnie, a Cali voter answered... "He's a big guy! Look at Davis... he's a wimp!"
right...

if you drink don't drive.
if you take drugs don't drive.
if you're rude say sorry. if you smile before speaking to someone on the telephone it helps.
Never be afraid of admitting how stupid you can be. If you use a mobile phone, TV, or microwave try and maintain at least three metres distance from your internal organs at all times. If you cross the road look both ways. If you’re in a shop check your change before you leave. If you goto the toilet wash your hands afterwards. If you wash your feet regularly they’ll last a lifetime.
If you pick your nose make sure your fingernails are clean. If you go out in the Sun be careful of UVA. If you get caught in the rain wash it off. If you see shellfish near Dublín on the beach don’t eat them. If you notice a dolphin take it seriously.
