Back in September the government announced they were planning to vaccinate up to 750,000 people, mostly children with a new nasal vaccine spray. I suppose a spray seems less dangerous and frightening than a needle. There was a major push this year by the pharmaceutical companies through their lackeys in the government and press to urge people to take it and on back of the constant fear campaign since last March, it seems to have been highly effective. We are supposed to believe that this is all for the benefit of us all and the fact that anyone is making money out of it is just an outrageous thing to suggest. Nor should it be mentioned in polite company that the pharmaceutical companies are NOT liable for any vaccine injuries and you have to take any case you have, against the government. This nice little arrangement has been in place for years and is the envy of all manufacturers of all and anything. read full story / add a comment
The European elections are this Friday on May 24th and there are good reasons to consider your vote very carefully because it does make a difference because practically every bit of law passed in the EU has to be adopted by ireland at some point. It is a great way for politicans here to say the "EU forced us to..."
They said that one about the attempt to privatise water during that campaign.
It can be safely assumed that most people are for internet freedom, protection of the environment and in particular to live in places with unpolluted water, clean air and safe from exposure to toxic chemicals. These are all no brainers. In the area of military we have seen how years of bringing democracy to the Middle East by bombing them has resulted in devastation and huge waves of human refugees and immigration and time and time again the nefarious activities of the intellegence agencies of the big powers like USA, UK, France and NATO show them to be heavily linked to the various terrorist groups, via training, funding and weapons supply through third party countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar in order to disrupt and overthrown regimes they don't like. So do people really want ireland to drop it's neutrality and get aboard these very costly military adventures and volunteer it's soldiers for basically ordained mass murder? At a guess, the answer is probably no. read full story / add a comment

Investigative Journalist and ex presidential candidate Gemma O'Doherty has become the subject of a campaign of google censorship like many others recently who dissent from the status quo. Gemma, however did not take this lying down. She took it straight to google HQ
Support Gemma in her fight against google censorship.
And support independent non corporate media platforms where this control cannot so easily be exercised over free speech! read full story / add a comment

Hypocrisy and Deceit Regarding Fake News and Free Speech from the ACLU is Beyond Chilling and Can No Longer Be Ignored (Amicus Curiae)
international / rights, freedoms and repression / opinion/analysis Thursday April 20, 2017 02:25 by James Justice
One would think there would be enough intelligent and discerning people within the lawyerly world of the ACLU to have paid some real attention to the actual many and damning Wikileaks (both before the election and after), as well from real progressives like the Sane Progressive Debbie Lusignan, H.A. Goodman, and equally top quality libertarian writers like Justin Raimondo (and dozens of others who have actually been trying to tell truth against the avalanche of lies coming from both the traditional left and traditional right and mainstream media). read full story / add a comment
There is more than a whiff of corruption arising from NAMA. The most obvious case has already been highlighted with Project Eagle in Northern ireland.
Here a giant US company Cerberus paid a €7 million fixer fee to secure assets originally worth €6.5 billion for just €1.34 billion. Even though Michael Noonan was informed that another company had withdrawn from the bidding after it was asked for a ‘fixer fee’, he still allowed the sale to go ahead.
The main fixer was Frank Cushnihan, a well connected insider among the Northern political elite. It is alleged that Peter Robinson and his son Garret stood to benefit from this fee. Astoundingly, Cushnihan was also acting as an advisor for 58% of NAMA’s Northern debtors. read full story / add a comment

This article appear on the Saker blog and is reproduced here as George Soros has a huge and sinister influence over many organisations particularly in Europe and was implicated in the installation of the neo Nazi thugs in power in Kiev, in the Ukraine and for help trigger numerous colour revolutions that ultimately help install puppet governments answerable to the neo cons in Washington and carry out the neo liberal agenda which ultimately only serves the agenda of the rich.
A leak of private documents of George Soros’ Open Society Foundations has been released, courtesy of http://soros.dcleaks.com/.
George Soros is known to be involved in pretty much any revolution or coup around the world as well as heavily influencing politics. But these leaks provide direct evidence and show how deep and serious his involvement is. Here’s a quick analysis of what one can find.read full story / add a comment

On the centenary anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising it is worth reflecting on what has happened since then and the aspirations of the proclamation to guarantee equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens and cherishing all of the children of the nation equally.
The Rising itself was doomed to failure from the start but as with life itself often the most unpredictable and unexpected things happen because despite the lack of initial public support, after the executions sympathies swung the other way and as they say the rest was history and the ripples spread out, because it has been said the fight for independence of India was inspired by the Irish Rising. read full story / add a comment

Mick Wallace, an independent, democratically elected public representative in ireland's first house of Parliament, has been arrested and will be brought to Limerick Prison. The reason for his arrest was his attempt, along with Clare Daly TD, to inspect US military planes at Shannon. As his actions were undertaken entirely in the pursuit of peace, Shannonwatch calls for his immediate release.
[Update] TD Mick Wallace has since been granted temporary release from Limerick Prison this afternoon. However TD Clare Daly has now driven to Limerick the prison in an unmarked Garda over her non-payment of a fine in relation to a protest at Shannon Airport. read full story / add a comment

Across the lake of Lough Conn the home town of Charles Haughey and Enda Kenny ,Castlebar was to be the recruiting ground for one of the largest arms controversies in modern times and the key issue that led to the Gulf War.
