German state media have systematically slandered Charlie Kirk in the wake of his assassination, says Eugyppius. They portray him as an unhinged and dangerous fascist, just stopping short of blaming him for his own death.

We regret and deplore the killings which took place as Israeli troops, in defiance of international law, boarded and assaulted ships, and wounded many and killed some of the participants in a flotilla seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza (itself a morally outrageous policy) to bring humanitarian aid. We ask all people of peace to dedicate at least fifteen minutes today (Memorial Day in the US) to silent memorial for those peace activists who have been killed (and we call upon all synagogues around the world to say Kaddish for those people at their Shabbat services this coming weekend), and for prayer for the speedy recovery of all those wounded in this attack (mostly peace activists, but also the Israeli soldiers who boarded the boats with violence). read full story / add a comment

Some photos of today's lunchtime protest in Cork at the overnight Israeli commando attack on part of the Gaza aid flotilla. Among those who spoke was Jim Lane, himself a lifelong activist, who is the father of Dr. Fintan Lane. Over 100 people attended the protest at short notice and a group later marched to Cork City Hall, calling on the Lord Mayor to open a book of condolences and to demand the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador. read full story / add a comment

Is this attack on an Aid ship Israel's taking advantage of an erstwhile preoccupied and unfortunate American President ? Or is it just more of Israel doing what Israel does best ..taking murderous and disproportionate action against civilians to further subjugate the Palestinian people - and doing all of this under the pre configured ideation imprinted on the Israeli mind that Europe 'owes' her because of the Holocaust - and therefore whatever would be deemed unacceptable by another country is Ok for Israel ? read full story / add a comment

Reports have reached us that the three Irish passengers kidnapped this morning by Israeli commandos are all unhurt. Shane Dillon is on a plane back to Ireland, while Dr Fintan Lane and Fiachra O Luain have both contested deportation and are now in an Israeli detention camp and will be brought to court within 72 hours. The three were kidnapped as part of the Israeli attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla earlier today that killed up to 19 people, according to reports. read full story / add a comment

tyrone / rights, freedoms and repression / press release Monday May 31, 2010 17:11 by Free Palestine   image 1 image
Young republicans from across County Tyrone outraged by today's murderous piracy by Israel have organised a number of actions over the coming week to protest and highlight local anger over these brutal abuses of human rights.

So far 19 deaths and dozens of injured have been claimed when Israeli soldiers boarded a ship and opened fire on civilian humanitarian workers who were bringing much needed aid to the stricken and besieged Palestinian people living in Gaza.

Actions will include graffiti, murals, protests and vigils. A protest is organised by South Tyrone Ógra at the Ballygawley Round at 5pm today, Strabane Ógra and Coalisland/Clonoe Ógra will each be organizing protests respectively and West Tyrone Ógra having already adorned the now vacant Omagh Brit Camp with graffiti and are erecting a mural.
