About forty people picketed Bertie's constituency office ,St luke's last night; that's about twice the number of the last protest held there two weeks ago. Bertie wasn't in unfortunately -or if he was he showed no inlination of coming out.The only person to emerge scurried quickly away up Drumcondra hill .Somebody told me it might have been Royston Brady. The picket- called by the drumcondra anti war group and supported by the newly formed St pats college against the war- was very lively and got lots of hoots from passing motorists. Drumcondra and st pats groups are planning to hold a joint public meeting early in April. We should have a venue sorted out by next week. Should anyone in the college be interested in getting involved please get in touch on: 087 6988540. read full story / add a comment

34 die as US missiles hit wrong target luke Harding in Halabja, northern Iraq Monday March 24, 2003 The last thing that Omar Mohammed Saeed heard was the sound of the American missile plunging through the roof of his dormitory. It was 12.30 at night, and Mr Saeed and his fellow peshmerga fighters had been fast asleep. The laser-guided bomb reduced the compound where Mr Saeed had been staying into a tomb of pulverised concrete and metal. There was no chance of escape. "We don't understand. Why did America do this? My uncle was a kind man who would never have hurt anybody," his nephew, Sadar Mohammed, said yesterday. "This makes us love Saddam Hussein rather than America," he added. read full story / add a comment ![]()

Today peaceful protesters injured a garda while trying to cause damage to a plane. This gives a new meaning to the word peaceful. Last week people here were saying criminal damage was ok because nobody was hurt. What have they got to say this week? The sooner they arrest the rest of the criminals down at Shannon the better. Are the protesters in Shannon the same incident peaceful protesters that caused the May Day Riot? If will funny to read all the excuses that will be posted here about what happened today. Because the protesters at Shannon, rts and the rest are never wrong. And I am sure there will be lots of people saying it’s the governments fault LETS HOPE THEY LOCK THESE SCUMBAGS UP read full story / add a comment

No shit there has been nothing posted about a YES vote on the Indymedia because it is over. And the people of Ireland have voted yes. Most of the people who visit this Indymedia site are anti nice and anti government etc (just selfish bastards). And aren’t getting enough attention in there everyday life so they need to come on here to get it. Grow up. I heard somebody say that RTE were giving unfair coverage to the YES campaign. But just look at this site, all you see is NO NO NO. People who are not anti government or anti nice do not visit this site it’s not Independent. IT all ways takes the view of the odd ball. Maybe coz it’s run by odd balls. Get over it the people have voted and they voted YES read full story / add a comment

Hello friends, Just wanted to notify ye as to the recent launch of www.forumireland.com At present the Nice Treaty is the subject of our case study. Fianna Fáil and the Green Party have submitted exclusive articles to represent each side of the vote. Will we ratify or reject Nice? Is it even constitutional to re run the same treaty that we already rejected? luke 'Ming' Flanagan, the well known cannabis legalisation campaigner, has also sublitted an article for our feature of the month. luke writes on Waste Management in Ireland and the alternatives he sees to incineration of waste? Friends of the Earth Ireland have also submitted an article entitled "Dont let big business run the World" You may also raise and debate any topic you think is not receiving enough attention in the nations media - Forum Ireland will only be as strong as the articles and debate it encourages. read full story / add a comment
