Amnesty International, Trócaire, Christian Aid and the Association of European Parliamentarians for Africa have come together in organizing an ecumenical prayer service for peace and justice in Zimbabwe. Concerned citizens protesting against the ongoing destruction of Tara and its Sacred Valley in County Meath in Ireland say that they have received reports of another possible push by SIAC/FERROVIAL thugs to destroy still more of the ancient Monument at Rath Lugh. Smoke Signals - the first of a series of awareness gigs was held in Dorans on Monday the 31st and saw a good attendance and stonking performances from the Exploding Birds,Nippons and the Damn Dirty Apes. D.B,Scully and DJ Welfare finished the night off and sent everyone off on a high with a 12" smile on their face. A large and lively protest took place today outside Cherryorchard Hospital by carers, patients and supporters in the Ballyfermot area. Two weeks ago carers who look after their loved ones at home were told by phone calls from the HSE that roll-over respite care had been cut due to budgetary constraints. read full story / add a comment
