In 2005 a delegation from AECI addressed a JOINT OIREACTAS COMMITTEE ON ENTERPRISE AND SMALL BUSINESS. The purpose of this Presentation was convince the government to give Statutory Powers to the Private Limited Company EPACE. Epace is an organisation which AECI has now left. RTE and other media outlets are reporting that the Shell pipe laying ship is to leave Broadhaven Bay within 48 hours. Some journalists are speculating that the ship's captain has had a crisis of conscience and has left the area in response to the hunger strike, but Shell's statement claims the move is in response to damage to the ship's equipment. How ironic that the Irish Greyhound Derby final falls at the end of Gambling Awareness week,( this week). How many Irish people realise that very young school-going children are freely allowed to bet their pocket money without any legislative protection at Ireland’s Greyhound tracks. Yes, Irelands TOTE BETTING has no under age limit, leaving kids as young as 4 or 5 years old reaching over the counter at places like Shelbourne Park Greyhound Track to gamble their pocket money away. read full story / add a comment ![]()

A Danish military intelligence whistleblower has complained that the Danish prison service has been unfair in imprisoning him at a distance from his 15-year-old daughter. Frank Grevil has been imprisoned at Horserød Prison since June this year, as punishment for leaking documents which showed that the Danish Defence Intelligence Service did not share the government's conviction that Saddam Hussein's Iraq was in possession of weapons of mass destruction at the time of Denmark's invasion of Iraq in March 2003. read full story / add a comment

Animal Rights Action Network took our nationwide campaign ‘Stop Circus Suffering in Ireland’ to Cork city to expose circus goers to animal suffering in travelling Irish circuses.
