Seven anti-war activists entered the Shoalwater Bay military training area in central Queensland during joint US-Australian talisman sabre exercises. The seven remain in the area and are presently moving towards the ‘live fire’ areas with the intention of shutting down the exercises. Ciaron O'Reilly arrived in Brisbane, Australia, on Friday night Feb 3rd.after a 30 hour flight and was immediately met by two ASIO agents on disembarking. Ciaron is one of the PIt Stop Ploughshares defendants awating a third trial in Dublin, July 5th. Defendants have been allowed to leave the country, they are required to return to Ireland a week before the July trial. The Catholic Worker crew in OZ have set off to inspect a U.S. NSA/CIA base Pine Gap, near Alice Springs in the centre of the continent. They are covering the journey of thousands of miles in a van fueled by recycled Fish and Chip oil. Pine Gap plays a significant role in sattelite targetting for U.S. drive by cruise missile attacks and electronic spying. They are being joined by Donna Mulhearn, an Australian peace actvist who was held hostage in Fallujah and witnessed the U.S. destruction of that city.
The crew called into the trial of those arrested in June for blockading Operation talisman sabre a joint OZ/U.S. military exercise held this past June. read full story / add a comment

In the next few days, the Catholic Worker Crew are setting off from Brisbane in a Citizen's Inspection Vehicle, powered by recycled fish 'n chip vegetable oil, to confront the U.S. NSA Pine Gap Base near Alice Springs.

Pine Gap sattelite targets for U.S. first strike nuclear weapons and also recent drive by cruise missile attacks on Afghanistan, Sudan & Iraq.

Some of the folks go to trial Monday in Rockhampton, Queensland for blockading joint U.S./Australian military Operation talisman sabre exerecises this past June.

The Australian government erases civil liberties on the basis of anit-terror hysteria while hosting State terrorist facilities. The Australian Defence Minister has recently threatened the CW crew with svere punishment if they go ahead with their nonviolent action. read full story / add a comment
