Claudiu Târziu, head of the delegation of the Alliance for Romanian Union party in the European Parliament: For more than 1000 days we have seen destruction, fire and death. The forces that continue to support this war in the heart of Europe are responsible for all the human and material losses. Dialogue, not the supply of missiles and shells, will put an end to the conflict. read full story / add a comment

The European Commission has an obsession with war and arms race and whoever talks about peace - is an enemy, that must be kept within a cordon sanitaire so as not to contaminate the pure and elevated parishioners of the personality cult of the high-ranking European bureaucrat. In Romania, military support to Ukraine (in addition to the economic and humanitarian support) is a state secret. From the resolution of 17 July 2024, we learned with astonishment that Romania, along with the other Member States, contributes with 0.25% of GDP to the costs of the war in Ukraine. We need a whole new type of discourse, hence we need new faces in the European parliament. read full story / add a comment ![]()

- If the alternative to Trump is to destroy Russia at any cost, even at the cost of unleashing a third world war, then Trump is the better choice, but that does not mean that the imperial and anti-Russian character of US policy will change dramatically. - It is ideal for US imperialist intentions that there will be enough fools who will get their hands dirty and destroy the Slavs instead. The EU must recover, stop making a fool of itself, urgently start working in the interests of its citizens and stop supporting a war that has nothing to do with us. - Biden has given Trump, Russia and the world a third world war to say goodbye to. Thus he finally finds himself, along with Adolf Hitler and his ilk, in the gallery of the greatest war criminals in the history of mankind. read full story / add a comment ![]()

There is a growing front in the European Parliament that fears an overly militarised Europe. MEP Danilo Della Valle ('The Left') has taken the initiative to ask MEPs to set up an intergroup for peace in Brussels to promote a path favourable to a negotiated settlement of the conflict in Ukraine (and not only there). read full story / add a comment

Commonsense trumps real science - which needs real data, not commonsense... and that empirical data comes too late sometimes as a consequence of nefarious policies and disguised political agendas. There'd have been no covid injuries and vaccine uptake would have been near zero had the vast majority of public worldwide exercised some shrewd commonsense and recognized snake oil for what it was / still is. Modernity's greatest hijacking through behavior control is co-opting public's commonsense. Even coercion requires a measure of public's consent. How not to withhold consent is the entire edifice upon which oligarchic controls rest. Understanding this gets back to the public using their commonsense to preempt the dystopic oligarchic agendas. read full story / add a comment

I originally wrote this piece in September 2021 following the announcement by United States President Joe Biden that US forces would withdraw from Afghanistan, but never sought to publish the piece. The Irish Government is playing both sides on the matter of foreign affairs, calling for peace and claiming to be 'neutral' while actively supporting Western military imperialism. In this peice, I examine and criticise the involvement of Ireland in the Afghanistan War, with sources provided at the end. The Citizens’ Assembly on abortion rights was set up under pressure from the Repeal movement. It surprised the conservative Dáil when it recommended that women and pregnant people be trusted – that abortion should be legalised upon request up to 12 weeks; for socio-economic reasons up to 22 weeks; for health; and for fatal foetal abnormality. But how will these ever get implemented given that the Dáil parties have an extremely limited position on abortion that is way behind the public? Only Solidarity-People Before Profit and a few independents are pro-choice in line with the Citizens’ Assembly. read full story / add a comment ![]()

The key feature of the global landscape is the continuing stagnation of the centers of the global economy, the United States and the European Union.
