Last night (Tuesday 18th April2006) saw the very first tara Session Gigs kick off at the Dice Bar, Queen Street Dublin with great music from Longtails and Alice Jago. Organised by Tarawatch, these weekly gigs are intended to raise awareness of the campaign to save tara and the archaeology of the Skryne Valley from the proposed motorway, and of course to raise some much needed shekels for the fight. No entrance fee, free music and a good cause were enough to tempt a good turn-out for the first gig – and it was a great way to spend a Tuesday evening. read full story / add a comment

All those involved in the campaign to save tara are disturbed by the information on Brian Duffy, Chief State Archaeologist, as revealed by Frank McDonald (Irish Times, 5th December, 2005).
