It must be said that in our efforts to highlight the ongoing crisis one thing is constant – The respect and gratitude the patients have for the nurses and doctors in A&E across the country who have continued to work for years in unhealthy and unsafe conditions and as they so rightly say enough is enough for patients and staff. It must stop now. Patients together met with Minister Harney in November at that meeting she promised she would meet with us again in a few weeks. In light of the continued deterioration of conditions for staff and patients in A&E we now seek that meeting. Next Sunday, the 30th of January the president of the World Bank is due to visit Dublin. The President Mr. James Wolfensohn is here to talk to the World Council of Churches. Sinn Féin MEP Bairbre de Brún has been participating in the opening of the World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil (26 January/27th January). From Jan 20 to Feb 27, an open workshop will be located beside the Project Art Centre on East Essex street, Templebar. Abandoned bikes from rails around town will be brought here and available for people to work on and fix. If you have an old bike or spare parts, or bring them along for someone else to use, if you have bike knowhow and would like to help out drop in.
Like i said its an open workshop so there are tools available, for people to put stuff together with.

Aontacht.net is a new Republican website created by a group of young Irish Republicans with the intention of debating the future direction of Irish Republicanism and its relevance to modern society. It was felt that there needed to be a more detailed examination of the problems facing the ideology than has been carried out before but that there was no exisiting forum for this to be done in an impartial manner away from party political lines. The main area of debate will be the discussion forum which will become the nucleus of a much bigger website in time.
