While Ógra would never dream of violating Dublin City Councils rules on postering and such, or the inalienable right to private property, the cornerstone of this glorious state, we really must commend the young republicans who in support of our movement have attempted to remind the people of Dublin of the revolutionary history of their city. 16 Moore St. the final HQ of the Provisional Government of The Irish Republic in Easter week 1916 now represents the minority of the Parnell Street area which has not been revitalised by the "new" Irish. It lies in disrepair, shut up and until recently anonymous to the thousands who pass it everyday. Since named as a protected structure by DCC in 2005 which halted an attempt by its owner to demolish it, 16 Moore St. has remained untouch and unopen. This is a great shame as it holds the potential for a focal point in what is now a very vibrant part of the city. read full story / add a comment

Cork S2S activists and supporters will be travelling to Mayo this Friday to take part in the National Day of Protest called by the community campaign in Erris. Once again, Shell to Sea campaigners and supporters will be showing solidarity with and lending their numbers to the ongoing protest by the local community. For seven years now concerned local citizens have opposed the unsafe and unprecedented Corrib Gas project, and they have had the broad support of the community for most of this time. Excepting those few individuals whose business interests have been co-opted by Shell et al, the community’s support for the Shell to Sea campaign endures, and has even deepened. read full story / add a comment

Members of the IWU have been angered at the difficulties imposed on workers seeking PPS numbers by the Department of Social & Family Affairs. ‘This situation has only come to light when a Polish worker sought a PPS number within two days of arriving in Donegal to take up a job - the worker attempted to register for the PPS number at the local Social Welfare office but was told it would be necessary to travel to Letterkenny – a distance of more than 50 miles – which is now the only office issuing new numbers.’ read full story / add a comment

There is a protest at the entrance of the site of the proposed Shell refinery in Erris every morning. On the morning of Friday, September 14th, local people have asked for supporters to join them for a peaceful demonstration against the controversial government-backed scheme to install a high-pressure pipeline and gas refinery against the wishe s of the community. The Irish Junior Shooting Team ended off a highly successful tour this week at the 15th Annual Great Britain Junior International Event, with Susan Cunningham (17, Kells, Co. Meath) winning the Gold Medal in the Junior Women's Air Rifle Grand Prix competition and Damien Fagan (20, Navan, Co.
