I sent the following email to the iAWM on April 5, but have had no response:
“ We call on Ireland to recognise the Libyan Transitional National Council and call a halt to the NATO bombing.”

The IAWM is calling on the government to recognise the Libyan Transitional National Council despite the fact that the council has called for and is supporting air attacks by western powers to enforce the no-fly-zone over Libya.

“The Transitional Interim National Council welcomes the UN Security Council resolution 1973 (2011), as well as the outcome of the Paris meeting held on 19th of March, 2011, and commends all efforts exerted to expedite the implementation of the resolution, especially with regards to the imposition of the No-Fly Zone and the aerial attacks against Qadhafi’s brigades, which were approaching to enter the city of Benghazi and bombarding the city from all directions. Eight days ago it was reported that the Transitional National Council had appointed appointed a long-time CIA collaborator , Khalifa Hifter , to head its military operations
