Republican Sinn Féin will provide leadership as well as active opposition to this visit. Our campaign will involve activities throughout Ireland including a protest at the gates of Leinster House on Wednesday March 9 from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

The 16th century west of Ireland queen sailed across the Irish sea and up the Thames through the murderously efficient English navy.

The neurotic Tudor English "Queen Elizabeth 1 " ,who killed thousands, liked the courage of Grainnewaile the Connemara Queen and let her live.

Phew.
(Grainnewaile survived because she was a woman like Elizabeth.)

Courage and Madness are close companions.

The murderous Queen Elisabeth the First was gracious to let the Irish queen Grace O'Malley (Grainne-Uaile) live.

On her way to certain death in the ferocious English capital there was a place laid for Grainnewaile in a north Dublin castle.

Grainne came back to Inish Boffin.

That castle still lays a place on the table for Grainne to return to this day.

I think it was Clontarf Castle but I am open to be corrected.

Howth Castle prepares a seat at the table every day for the return of Grace O'malley..

When you have a meal in Howth Castle there will always be an empty seat at the banqueting table.

When you enquire as to why it is empty you will be told that is reserved for Grace O'Malley..
