Beat the Boreholes continues!!

category mayo | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Wednesday July 21, 2010 15:23author by Rossport Solidarity Camp Report this post to the editors

Beat the Boreholes continued yesterday with a walk on the strands of the estuary in the evening and leisurely paddle out earlier in the afternoon.

Members of the local community walked close to the drilling barges at low tide and showed their opposition to Shell's willingness to destroy Sruwaddacon estuary. The estuary is not only a Special Area of Conservation and Special Protected Area – it has been an integral part of live in the community for generations. Despite this Minister Gormley has given the go-ahead for Shell to damage it.
Beat the Boreholes!!
Beat the Boreholes!!

Earlier in the day 8 community supporters from the Rossport Solidarity Camp took their kayaks for a spin out on the water - and were met with up to 15 security boats while having a closer look at the barges.

Come to support and be part of community resistance. Beat the Boreholes is up and running, sign up for your borehole or find out how you can help – get in touch with Rossport Solidarity Camp!

Beat the Borehole guide coming soon.

No baton carrying bully,no IRMS mercenary,no corrupt politician,no unjust jailing
by a biased judiciary,no cowardly action by collaberating forces attempting murder
on the high seas or brutal beatings reported wrongly reported by a slavish media,
NO nothing will stop your peaceful protest to protect our environment from those
who would destroy it ,Shell,Statoil,BP etc.YOU are inspirational .
