![]() As September 11 approaches, we ask for your help to make the anniversary of the tragedy in the United States a time to promote global peace by organizing a peace event in your community. Thereby showing that people all over the world are uniting in a call for a world free of violence and war. Dear Friends, United for Peace is a coalition of US peace and Please join us on September 11 in a global show of solidarity by organizing a peace event in your community—such as a peace concert, an educational forum, a candlelight vigil, an interfaith service, a show of support for members of your community under attack, a fundraiser for the innocent Afghan victims of war, or a press conference with diverse community representatives calling on the US government to respond to terrorism through lawful and peaceful means. Please emphasize at all venues your opposition to the impending US attack of Iraq. Jump To Comment: 1The US has become the most arrogant and intolerant nation in the Western world and in most of the globe as well.
It's rapidly becoming the country portrayed in Orwells 1984, from citizens being encouraged to spy on and report on each other, to people being arrested and detained because their opinions are different.
The US is using 9/11 as an excuse to attack nations that it claims may be harbouring anti-american sentiments.
While I have every sympathy for the victims of 9/11, the amount of racist rhetoric coming out of the states has increased unacceptably; "sand ni**ers" and "towel heads" being two terms for ANYONE of middle east extraction I see bandied around the net on a regular basis as though it's become acceptable.
The message from the US to the rest of the world has become "We are an equal opportunities nation; we will stamp on anyone we don't like regardless of race, creed or nationality."
Predicition: If WW3 starts, it will be Bush who starts it.
And Bush; get your damn planes off Irish soil.
