We, a group of Senior and Junior Officers (we do not mention names for obvious reasons and not because of cowardice) facing the situation in which politicians in collusion with commanders have involved the armed forces and that have deteriorated the good image that we had to the Honduran people we speak and we denounce the following: •

STATEMENT

We, a group of Senior and Junior Officers (we do not mention names for obvious reasons and not because of cowardice) facing the situation in which politicians in collusion with commanders have involved the armed forces and that have deteriorated the good image that we had to the Honduran people we speak and we denounce the following: •

The Chief of the Joint Gen. Vasquez politicized the institution, contrarily to the constitutional mandate of being apolitical. •

The Gen. Vasquez committed the F.F.A.A. in principle supporting Mr. Mel Zelaya and then changed political arena instead of withdrawing its troops to their barracks and stay away from the politicians who are only using them. •

It is mentioned that a group of businessmen gathered 30 million Lempiras and distributed the amount to the commanders, something that goes against the principles of decency and military, and we also say that the Armed Forces are not the gendarmes of any elite economic group, but we are with the people because the majority of its members both officers and soldiers come from the bowels of the people, we are not a military caste. •

General Vasquez two years ago should have retired, but Mr.Mel Zelaya left him, breaking the existing laws. At that time he said "I accept. It’s understood Mr President" and now he sold himself to the highest bidder. Lack of principles as a person, there is some treachery in his actions, has impaired two promotions in the succession of command. •

Two years ago when Mr Zelaya choosed Gen. Vasquez again, removed a few weeks before several commanders who did not agree with the continuism and when Don Mel invited to presidential residence all military commanders, General Vasquez commanded to a mission outside Tegucigalpa some officers who would question him on this decision to Mr. Mel Zelaya. •

Gen. Vasquez has distorted the degree of general by allowing to reach that level officers who have had a black background in the military but have been his sycophants with no operational capability. Example: •

He lift a colleague, Retired Gen. Geronimo Perez, an officer that in drunken state broke two military cars and was not responsible, took pregnant a second lieutenant of the Military Academy and influenced so that she was graduated and now the Gen. Vasquez works under contract, earning Lempiras 30,000.00 per month at Defense College. •

The Gen. Fuentes Gonzales, is a kleptomaniac Officer who being in a Battalion Commanded by the U.S. military, making a civic action in the west, they left as a deposit timber and building materials and when they returned to bring it to the Headquarters he had yet sold it, the Americans recommended a dishonorable way out the army to him and he is now a brand-General. •

General Cuellar is an excellent person as an officer but he never met a battalion of border. He does not know what is a border patrol, he has been an office clerk all time long, but he is a general. •

General Padget, a problematic officer since he was a junior officer, have graduated in Mexico and left there a poor record, with his faults of propriety (you better investigate). •

General Cervantes, Prince and Admiral Rodríguez, no negative comments about theirhis military and particular life, but you have had no military character as to clarify matters with Mr. Chief of Staff Mr. General Vasquez, when you told Mr. Mel Zelaya you would not meet the order of the fourth, they should have submitted their resignation, not changing political sides, as if the Armed Forces were to serve political groups.

You do better resigning, it´is on time, remember that in 1993 you’ve known the jail in the PC MOSUSU
