As yet another scandalous arrest over a tweet shows how Labour has turned Britain's constables into commissars, the public are right to draw a link between this clampdown on speech and 'two-tier Keir', says Laurie Wastell.

Tempting though it is, Donald Trump and his allies should refrain from trying to cancel their political opponents. Free speech is one of the core values that the defenders of Western civilisation should uphold.

a short report

Short report and some pics of the 5 aside soccer tournament held on 29th Nov in aid of Shell to Sea.

A total of ten teams took part in the tournament held last weekend at the sports complex in Ballyfermot. Teams were:

Team 1: Connolly Youth
Team 2: Socialist Party
Team 3: Eirigi
Team 4 IPSC
Team 5: Durriti Column FC (WSM)
Team 6: Kronstadt Rebellion Athletic (WSM)
Team 7: Dublin Bus
Team 8:Dublin Bus
Team 09: IRSP
Team 10: general popular front (Sinn fein + fergal bea and randomers)

The bitter cold didn't manage to dampen the atmosphere of the day and the tournament was played in a very competitive but sporting manner.

The early rounds were run off in two groups with four teams advancing to the semi finals:

dublin bus v irsp
dublin bus v cym

After two very keenly contested semi final matches, both the Dublin Bus teams emerged as winners and progressed to the final.

After some heated debate regarding the allegiance of one particularly skilful player from Dublin Bus (expertly mediated by Gra) , the final got under way ... and the winner by 4 goals to 1 was .... yes, you've guessed it, Dublin Bus ..!!

Dublin Shell to Sea would like to thank everyone who took part in the tournament and also the staff of Ballyfermot Sports Centre.

This was an extremely successful event and it gave the different groups involved in the campaign a chance to network and play together and at the same time raise some much needed funds for the campaign.

Will post up more pics as I get them.
