Anti-War Vigil *GPO Tuesday 4pm-6pm

category dublin | anti-war / imperialism | event notice author Tuesday October 28, 2008 06:49author by Ciaron - Catholic Worker/Ploughshares Report this post to the editors

Yesterday saw hundreds participate in nonviolent direct action to shut down Adermaston - Britain's nuclear weapons factory.
Friends from London, Oxford, Farmhouse Catholic Workers and Trident Ploughshares joined hundreds of others in an attempt to nonviolently shut down Aldermaston.
We will try to incorporate solidaritywith this direct action into this week's GPO anti-war vigil Background on Monday's Aldermaston blockade see http://blockawe.blogspot.com and http://www.tridentploughshares.org US/UK went to war in Iraq to dismantle WMD...meanwhile Aldermaston continues to produce WMD. Go figure?

Anti-War Vigil *GPO Tuesday October 28th. 4pm-6pm
"Stop Irish Participation in the War!"
"U.S. Military Out of Shannon, Iraq & Afghanistan!"
*Outside GPO, O'Connel St. Dublin

Come join Mairitn, Colim, Maura, Steve, Emira & others at the vigil!
Drop by for a short time and get updated on the war on Iraq, Afghanistan & elsewhere!
Get updated on nonviolent resistance to war and war preparations in Ireland and elsewhere

This vigil is hosted by the Dublin Catholic Worker community.
You don't have to be a "Catholic" or a "Worker" to participate in any CW projects or nonviolent resistance activities.
Our weekly vigils are focussed and inclusive, a nonviolent discipline and a tolerance for other people's beliefs is basic to the vigil.
