Thanks to the Declaration of Dumfries, parents now have a real shot at suing councils that unlawfully forced masks on their children ? and at making sure this form of child abuse never happens again, says Gary Sidley.

We were assured by Conservative and Labour politicians that the Online Safety Act was designed to protect children. In the last few days, its real, more sinister purpose has become, writes Andrew Doyle.

US Court attempts to muzzle Wikileaks

Steven Soldz of Daily Koz raises the alert

"Wikileaks Under Attack: California Court Wipes Wikileaks.org Out of Existence
Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 06:20:15 AM PST
One of the most important web sites in recent months has been Wikileaks.org. Wikileaks has upset the Chinese government enough that they are attempting to censor it, as is the Thai military junta. Wikileaks is now under attack from a censorship effort by a California court."

Wikileaks has been an invaluable source of inside information on what governments and other bodies around the world are up to. It has put into the public domain an array of illuminating documents ordinarily kept from public scrutiny. An application by the Julius Baer bank in the Cayman Islands has successfully persuaded a Californian court to shut down the wikeleaks.org website. As Soldz points out, this is a draconian response - the equivalent of shutting down the New York Times because of one disputed article.

Soldz's full report is here:

Wikileaks remains available publishing from non-US, non-Chinese jurisdictions including http://wikileaks.cx/ and http://wikileaks.be/. See http://wikileaks.cx/wiki/Wikileaks:Cover_Names for more.

Please spread the word - link and store as much as possible.

Absolutely disgraceful and unprecedented.

This will backfire horribly and Wikileaks will be more popular than ever.

This whole thing stinks. It most certainly pays to have friends in high places. But we're talking about the internet here. It isn't easy to pull the plug on the flow of information, particularly so when one acts in a stupid fashion like this.

The following address will also bounce interested readers to the Wikileaks site. Whilst it's doubtful that the powers that be can purge all that Wikileaks has disclosed from the internet, they most certainly have the power to disrupt it. It might be an idea as Miriam said, for folks with an interest in material to download that material. http://88.80.13.160/

Here's a copy of all correspondence between Wikileaks and those representing Swiss/Cayman Islands Bank Julius Baer. It can be seen that Wikileaks was not told of what specific allegations were being made other than some vague allegations. After this period of correspondence, those acting against Wikileaks took an ex-parte proceeding against Wikileaks and the censorship is what resulted. http://88.80.13.160/wiki/Full_correspondence_between_Wi..._Baer

Methinks the legal mafia have bitten off a lot more than they can chew this time.
