If you're going to be in London Saturday March 15th.
You might want to mosey along to Anti-War march with some Rossport related banners.
The march lloks like being the usual SWP/StWC cattle drive but you may run into a sympatetic target audience to educate (leaflet etc.) about Shell and Rossport.
There is a strong Shell-Iraq connection. See website

March assembles Saturday March 15th.

What would be the relevance of educating a group of anti-war or anti-imperialism activists in a foreign country on an issue about health and safety and corruption in this one?
Imagine if you were on a march against US use of Shannon and some Welsh people came along with a banner about a gas pipeline in Wales. Wouldn't you just think they were lost?
Would you think they were lost?
St.Patrick's Day is celebrated all over the world. St.Patrick's Day Parades were originally an invention of the British Army, which used them as a recruiting tool.
(Before that, the Saint's day was marked by the dressing of holy wells. )
Great to see Gluaiseacht back in Action!!
OK hang on to your hats lads we're going to do some lateral thinking.
If you don't just treat politics as a hobby - and the jury is still out on that one given your comments - but want to build international solidarity to feed into continued nonviolent direct action in Mayo and are on this bus to London this is "a suggestion".
In ternms of outreach possibilities for those coming to London...there's Ramparts for what is left of the libertarian anti-capitlaism scene, there's St. Patrick's day parade on the Sunday in terms of the huge Irish diaspora and on the Saturday there's a march on the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq (see details above).
One of the major beneficiaries of the invasion, killing and privatisation of the Iraqi oil fields...is yes you guessed it "Shell" (see relevant website above!).........so if you've got the energy you might want to make a banner "Shell Outta Mayo & Iraq" and spread the word of the casmpaign in Mayo. It's an option etc etc
If you've got FSG attitude you're probably not on this bus to london.
With all your suggestions for other people to make banners and attend marches it sounds like you're not on the bus either, so you can't really judge anyone else's attitude.
I'm not on the bus, because I'm in London working on logistics for 100 heads to bed down for free in this expensive town.
I merely do some take it or leave it info sharing with my comment here and run into a tsunamei of contrariness. Oh well....
I'll be at this anti-Shell thing in Lonodn town this morning......
"Officer, officer....I'd like ot report an armed robbery......
