16 Year old Anti Fascist Murdered by Nazi in Madrid

Today an antifascist activist was stabbed in the heart when on his way to an immigration demo in Madrid

While on his way there, the comrade, only 16 years of age, together with some friends, spotted a guy sporting nazi paraphernalia on the underground. When confronted, he pulled out a knife, stabbed Carlos, the comrade, in the heart, and another antifascist militant in the lung, while trying to run out of the tube station. Carlos died, the other guy has been badly hurt, but doctors say he will live.

A nazi group called Democracia Nacional had called for a demo against immigration in a popular neighborhood in town, where many foregin antionals live, mainly latin american workers. This fascist act had been authorised by the local governement, from the conservative party. Another demo was called by antifascist groups to defend the area.
The Nazi was beaten severly by the antifascists and is currently in hospital.
. The nazi is a serviceman, in the spanish army. Also, a guy in the antifascist lot was hurt when police shot him in the eye with a rubber bullet.

This is particularly worrying, if it could be any more, by the fact that the 20th of November, the traditional show down between the scum and the antifascists is so close. That´s the anniversary of Franco´s death, when the fascists always call for a demo that every year is swiftly countered. So there will be more violence to come....

Note that Carlos was murdered by that filth in the context of a rally called by the fascist group "National Democracy" permitted by the right wing "Popular Party" and that one comrade was shot in the eye by a cop afterwards. The current right wing/fascist tactic is to steal politically moderate labels to disguise their real agenda, grab the centre and then try and assign social progressives to the margins.

Neo-Nazi problem was pretty small in Madrid back in 2003, seems to be getting out of hand. Respect to all the Spanish anti-fascist fighters and the Basque comrades who successfully defended San Sebestian from Fascists last month. Carlos is one of a worrying amount of youths murdered by Fascists this year.

This weekend will see 5 marches by the fach in Madrid to mark the anniversary of the death of Franco. They'll all be out - the falange, the nat-democracy & even the Franco clan themselves will make an appearance. The soldier who murdered the guy in the story above won't be there. Pretty soon he won't be a soldier anymore. But it's just another drop of blood. This last month saw the sentances passed on the M11 trial. Ye all know that, it made global news. But what you probably don't know (even those of you with a keen interest in all things Spanish state-ish) is that the next week a group of five well dressed kids (or young adults as they like to be called) sat in the bench in a court in Barcelona accused of the murder of Muhamud (one the many - it's the most common name on this planet) that weekend of M11. Their appearance in clean shirts (not Ben Shermans) and diamond pattern v -necked jumpers merited a short column in a few of the newspapers as the memory of their murder was ineffectively jogged. I remember their murder. I reported it here on this newswire. Young Muhamud joined a Basque shop-keeper as a victim, & name in the psychosis which followed M11. The shop-keeper refused to put an anti-ETA poster in his window and an off-duty cop shot him. Young Muhamud lived in a dormitory suburb of ill repute outside of Barcelona where indeed I worked at that time with under privelaged kids helping them make noise in the belief it was music & would improve their lot in life. The give clean cut kids who beat Muhamud to death that weekend in the train station chose him for no other reason than he looked muslim, and by then we all knew (didn't we?) that ETA hadn't bombed Madrid & thus I suppose knew the off duty cop had committed a most awful crime of passionate revenge..,

Not one newspaper though to remember why those kids beat Muhamud to death.

A few weeks ago a guy of 22 was seen by the CCTV on the suburban trains in Barcelona to attack a Ecuadorian teenager. He threatened her, groped her breast and then held on to the rail while he kicked her face repetitively. Then he got off at his stop & went home. The guardia civil picked him up at his house, charged him, the Ecuadorian media were stunned he was released on bail, The ambassador complained, he had to move home because Latin Americans "in the ambit" of the Latin Kings said quite clearly they'd kill him. The media decided they had mishandled the story by splashing his face, first name and surname initials on the front page and following him from his former home to the bar to the court whilst he bragged & refused comment unless they paid him a thousand euros.

They handle cheap racist violence the wrong way - they all agreed..,

Meanwhile the same week the guy in the story above died - another died in Italy, similar thing, ultras having a drop by drop.

& so we peel the onion.

most people don't understand fascism.

Depending on what country you live in, you hear in school about Hitler, Mussollini and Franco... and usually not much more.
They don't discuss the popular support for Fascism in the UK and US among others before WW2 or Operation Gladio afterwards.

This Carlos guy spotted the danger of the idea, unfortunately he wasn't prepared for the real danger of the nazi. It's not a great idea for 16 year olds to be confronting larger males who may be armed, in enclosed places like underground platforms.

If the idea is to denounce the nazi propoganda as he attempts to hand it out on the underground, this can be done from beyond stabbing distance. (the article reads to me as that the anti-fascist , approached closer than was prudent)
