Guilty Plea in Buffalo today

In 2004 two members of the Critical Art Ensemble were arrested for 'bioterrorism' under the Patriot
Act. The organisation of which they are members is called the CAE and the area they were exploring
was biotech.

The campaign has been running awhile on , amongst other publications : The New Left Curve.

Today in Buffalo Federal District Court Dr Ferrell pleaded guilty to lesser charges than 'Mail
Fraud' and 'Wire Fraud', which had replaced the bioterrorism charges which did not stick.

Bit of Backround:-

Dr Ferrell and Dr Kurtz were mailing germs which they used in their projects and educational
resource packages. Dr Ferrell is a survivor of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphona and is currently undergoing
his second autologus stem cell transplant in seven years. He thought a guilty plea would lessen
his and familial hardship than fighting a prolonged case by the US dept of Justice
under the Patriot Act.

The history is on:-

The New Left Curve publication has publicised the story and is mentioned on this newswire
in relation to Palestinian Film-makers,(Cultural Boycott),
The removal of sections of Wiki on Pasolini and Radical Art Theory on the Ann Madden thread.

The Critical Art Ensemble who have been persecuted not prosecuted have run a campaign
based in the words 'Art is Not Terrorism' since 2004.

[Heres some backround from nyc indymedia on how terrorism funds art ;and a new museum].

It's Called the 'Presidio' and its funded and planned by Don Fisher.

The links and backround on the CAE, as well as essays in Radical Art Theory and
cultural abuse by war-mongers and mercenaries are on:-

The blatant and irreversible theft of and destruction of cultural expression being an
off-shoot of rampant globalisation and war, interestingly in Ireland not alone did the
state drop the Heritage portfolio and remove all protections from our archaelogical heritage,
but also tied the funding of the Art's Coucil to the State for the second time in it's history.
