news report

![]() We went home sweatin' and gave the campaign a boost! Last night at An Cruiscin Lan on Douglas St., the band Ilya K and Dj Doc Fiasco provided a great night's entertainment to an appreciative crowd composed of familiar faces and some new friends. It provided a timely boost to the local group's coffers, and thanks must go to organisers Gav and Tracy, and to the above-mentioned artists. Thanks lads! The night was slow in starting, and the crowd arrived with the traditional Irish attitude to punctuality, but Doc F was well up to the task of conjuring up atmosphere. Good tunes ensuring a good vibe was built. Then, about half ten, Ilya K took to the stage and delivered an hour-long set of power and no little beauty. they got people dancing, esp. a sinister dark hooded individual (could he work for the Other Side?). Tracy spoke briefly (but passionately) about what Shell to Sea aims to do and exhorted people to support the campaign. It was a good night out, and once again thanks to all who made it happen! |
