My understanding, from reading "Private Eye" is thus:
Farmers won't support an exemption for the sacred bull, because they see this as a complete double standard - they are under the same rules. I know that in Ireland, domestic pets are not regulated by the department of agriculture - would there be a possible loop-hole there in the UK?
Also: my understanding is that a more thorough test to see if an animal actually has the disease for sure (this current test is by no means proof positive, but more a statistical correlation); however, Private Eye's "Muckspreader" says that this could then be used to zone in on infected Badger setts, and since this is politically unacceptable, the poor bull has to be sacrificed.
I know I count on poor Irish peoples' support, because your lives are so without glamour and fun you need me - and also because my press team have checked your justice records and noted drink driving is ok if you're rich or powerful.
