is offering herself as an alternative to the current government. only thing is there really is no
difference between the policies of FG and PD. If we climb carefully over the problems with the
blond leader's proto-facist ideologies and patriarchical control mechanisms we can see
that they target the aspirational- the moneyed class. The people who have more cash than
sense who consume art and always know how to behave 'in company'.

My friend, who is ninety is horrifyed at the lack of real politics in Ireland, he remembers
the root of the FG party and their blueshirt ideology. When Kenny started in oppositional leadership
many liberal FGers opposed his election- they were silenced.

Kenny has proposed over the years :
*blood-testing of immigrants.
*upping the age of consent.
He is possibly anti-gay.
He is most definitely not pro-feminist.

This begs the question (again) what the f*** are Labour doing in their laziness by
attempting coalition/alternative government with a party that is known anti-liberal?

The issues arising in societal terms from the last administration include:
same sex unions.
abortion.
planning.
Children's rights.

The fault lines between an urban -based liberal party with a lot of women and a few gay deputies
and a rural -based (farmer-supported) right -wing corporate supported party indicates the
worst kind of excuse for political laziness and refusal to meet issues in modern Irish society.

The media-massaged excuse for the centre-right rainbow shows how politics have cheapened
to a degree where politics are pure theatre and it is embarassing.

Yep! Lucinda needs to lose the permo-tan and have a word with the councillorsd in the auction
room at coity hall where the brown envelopes and winks and nods are starting again in earnest.
One FG deputy , at least received a long and significant nod from the lobbyist that was in
the council chamber- but sure it may be in my imagination.

Lose the sun-bed Lucinda.
ask Kenny why he thinks immigrants should be tagged and blood-tested.

I am surprised nobody came to promote Fine Gael and Lucinda.

Today, I heard her name on the Pat Kenny Show but unfortunately I did not hear the interview.

I note that Sean Dunne's proposals for Ballsbridge including Juries and Berkeley has been turned down - I would imagine Lucinda had some input here as a Councillor.

The country is awash with apartment complexes now but problems with management companies - the protocol, the ethics, the management of funds, the carrying out of works are still without legislation and even more important regulation.

Maybe somebody has something to say here.......

I had to smile at this gentleman's message re Creighton and her inability (or refusal) to return phone calls. Her party leader is very good to return calls, but even while she was a mere councillor, Creighton thought herself too good to bother doing this! I have even heard it on good authority that she barely returns calls from people who wanted to offer her help during the election campaign! I was asked to help her, but I outrightly refused, even though I was a member of FG at the time.
I also hear that Creighton is getting a lot of publicity for herself (or for FG?? It's hard to know!), so she must be more readily answering calls made to her by those she perceives to be useful to her. One gets the impression that she is running her own show independently of FG.

I also have first -hand experience of Creighton's rudeness to me on a number of occasions. The fact that so much has been given to one so young is indeed proof that life is very unfair! She would do well to bear in mind that we all have our time and our hour.

Creighton is thought to be v right-wing, but she actually sounds like someone in a student debating team. Her harsh views are strange in one who has had so many privileges at a young age. One could also say that her contemporary, Leo Varadkar, has also been privileged, but he is more practical and is more of a giver. Creighton goes on and on about Europe (who is paying for her trips to Brussels?), a topic which really isn't foremost in people's minds. It might be that her well-heeled constituents in DSE have little better to do that sit around thinking about Europe or their holiday homes there!!

I like the comments about Creighton and sunbeds. I also think the poster is excellent- there is so much unacknowledged wit out there!! With all the money Creighton is rumoured to have thrown into her election campaign, one would at least expect a better looking tan...other people got elected without tans!!!!
While Creighton is respectable and reasonable looking, she did not really deserve the panting acolades in the gutter press about her being the 'best -looking' woman on election posters. Poor Ann-Marie Martin (FG) is even better looking, but she has had to drop out of the game now. Even Tubridy recently gushed over Creighton as being 'very photogenic.'
It is disturbing that almost every woman in the Dail is blonde (real or otherwise); it is almost as if these women need this trait to validate their presence there. Sen Mary White is also blonde, and God help us, she wants to be the next president.....she would really need to go to the previous two for speech therapy! How can someone who sounds so stupid be so wealthy? Life just gets more and more mysterious!

The only reason FF are forwarding a woman called Mary for pres is that Ireland
has one of the lowest gender ratio's of female elected representatives, it is so bad
that the % for Ireland was increased due to the non-opposed second term of
Ms Mc Aleese (facilitated by FG/SF/Lab/Green)

As to Lucinda, her lover has been making the gossip columns in mainstream
due to a date-rape case, (he goes under the soubriquet 'friend of Bertie).

In response to that man's message about the woman facing eviction, I would not expect someone as spoilt as Creighton to give a damn about anyone with problems. She has a well-known name as a user! she would not recognise a problem if she tripped over it. Isn't her curiously adopted DSE full of wealthy people who evict others? Wealth is where her particualr loyalites lie. you've come a long way from obscure origins in Mayo, Lucinda!! She's like Haughey who went around trumping the Mayo card!!
By way, I thought Miriam Lord recently wrote that Creighton is dating Paul Bradford, the FG senator. Bradford must be almost 20 years older than her! Lord commented that they looked set to become 'the next Olwyn and Joe.' Enright is as useless as Creighton, but 'useless' is a word that comes to mind when you think of most other politicians. They at least coneal their selfishness and desperation better than Creighton does. B. Durkan is one of the best FG has, and Enda has foolishly moved him sideways.
If you peruse Utube, you will see that people refer to Creighton as Mrs Lucinda Kenny! Prior to the election, she was to be seen fawning all over Kenny at every opportunity.
I will not comment on the date rape thing that some other person has written on this particulare site, but I would like to know more. It would not be like Creighton to put herself in jeopardy by associating with the wrong type!

She's not a fascist. Theres no fascists campaigning openly in Ireland, end of story.

Enda is not anti-gay. He relesed a booklet about gay rights in Ireland, and FG, in opinion, has the most logical and progressive policies on gay rights in Ireland. Just because FG dont run around with the rainbow flag doesnt mean we're anti-gay. Theres many gay people heavily involved with FG.

I dont know what you concider a feminist, but Enda set up a committee to encourage our female members to run as local reps.

Lisbon will not lead to a single European army. If there was one Ireland wouldnt be able to get involved with it. Lucinda might want a European army, but she wont be getting one anytime soon. Even if the trey is passed.
