Barney Hartnett current representative for the AMALGATED TRANSPORT AND GENERAL WORKERS UNION ( A T G W U )again contests Senior Citizens Parliament Conference April 13 and 14, 2007.

The above conference will take place on April 13 and 14, in Dublin c/o Ms Mary Shop Ballymun SC Dublin 11.
For the third consecutive year Barney will contest the Parliament elections. Barney is a socialist. He is also an active member of his union the A T G W U. In Ballymun, on the Northside of Dublin, he has been editor of the local community paper "The Ballymun Echo" for over 24 years. The Echo has carried advertisments for Indymedia in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Barney is also a members of the Retired Workers Committee of I C T U.

BARNEY BELIEVES THAT MUCH BETTER PENSIONS, HEALTH SERVICE, HOUSING ETC CAN BE PROVIDED FOR OUR ELDERLY, IF IRELAND'S TOP EARNERS PAID THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAX. SOME OF THESE TOP EARNERS DO NOT PAY ANY TAX ACCORDING TO A RECENT REPORT BY THE REVENUE COMMISSIONERS. THEY STASH THEIR CASH IN INVESTMENTS IN SUCH AS CAR PARKS ETC TO AVOID TAXATION.

BARNEY CALLS ON ALL PENSIONERS TO CAMPAIGN FOR 300 EUROS PER WEEK -NOW- NOT OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.
