"The Fact Finding Delegation is interested in gathering evidence from all
parties in County Mayo about the situation around the Shell refinery and
pipeline project in order to determine why violence has recently erupted,
among other things," said Denny Larson of the International Human Rights

Police and Government officials as well as scheduled a public hearing to
gather information from the residents."

It is disappointing but not surprising that Shells Cops refused to attend the public hearing in Bellanaboy. What they had to loose by sending an impartial PR delegate/representative to the hearing is debatable. Such a person could have sat in the crowd, listened and taken notes, which poses the question ' What have they to hide'? or is it maybe that they ' just don't care'
