Jump To Comment: 3 2 1You have been mis-informed. Only two parties have entered coalition with Fianna Fail. One of them, the PDs, doubled their number of TDs at the 2002 election after 5 years in coalition with Fianna Fail. The other, Labour, suffered a collapse in their vote in the 1997 election after a 5-year period in government comprising 2 years in coalition with Fianna Fail and 3 years in coalition with Fine Gael.
Those who ,in their hunger for power, have previously entered coalition with Fianna Fail have always been doomed ..for their folly.
but it could just be a nasty little rumour. 'irreconcilable differences 'are cited between
the former bed-mates , but an election strategy has been agreed. Minister Mc Dowell
is apparently very unhappy that only Taoiseach Ahern knows the date.'
