The Unmanageables will do a short anti-war protest on the 6th August at the Hiroshima

foreign policy. It is conceived as an act of solidarity with the victims of US/ Israeli beligerence
in Gaza and Lebanon.
A letter of protest asking Bertie Ahern to condemn , not alone the civilain casualties
but war as a failure and our societal complicity in it will be handed into the Dept of
the Taoiseach.
Afterwards some of the Group will be going to the Israeli Embassy to do an agit-prop.
All are welcome to sign the letter and we specifically ask representatives from
AWI, IAWM, Parties of the left and the ISPC to come together and denounce the War.
If groups would like to come along we meet at 2pm at Merrion Square, on Sunday
6th August and you can bring a banner. Children are welcome to take part and
we encourage family participation.
The letter is simple but this is only a draft version:
Dera Mr Ahern,
After ( ) days of war in the lebanon, the Irish government and you in your capacity
as leader of hat Government have refused to condemn the War in the Lebanon.
You have condemned the civilian casualties and sought political resolution through
the offices of the UN.
We believe that war is failure and your silence in relation to the U.S foreign
policy of "if you are not with us, you are against us", through the ongoing
re-fueling and rendition flights at Shannon Airport and the green Light of
the US adminstration in relation to incursions and genocide in Lebanon
has made us as a society complicit in that foreign policy.
We condemn the war. We ask for an Immeadiate ceasefire on both sides
and we stand in solidarity with the jewish people, the people of Palestine
and the People of the Lebanon, who are victims of this failure.
.
Sunday August 6th at 2pm, Merrion Square.
Detour to department of the Taoiseach to deliver Letter of Protest.
Walk to Israeli Embassy.
