Australia's attempt to share credit for bringing peace to Gaza after recognising a 'State of Palestine' and making repeated calls for an under-siege Israel to restrain itself is beyond risible, says Prof James Allan.

Project '06 (Galway) Play-reading

"The Trial: how New Labour purged George Galloway"

Excerpts from the transcript of the New Labour proceedings against George Galloway MP will be read and broadcast.

In London in 2003 George Galloway MP was charged before the (new) Labour Party's disciplinary panel with engaging in conduct prejudicial or in an act grossly detrimental to the Party -- this was because of his outspoken opposition to the Iraq War, and it ended in his being expelled the Party. (He then formed a new party, Respect, and was re-elected on that basis to Parliament.)
The readings -- of excerpts from the transcript of the "trial" -- will take place on Tuesday July the 25th, starting 12 noon, at 10 St Bridget's Place Lower, Wood Quay (behind Argos / Lidl), Galway. FREE.
They will be simultaneously broadcast on Radio Pirate-Woman FM102 (Galway city area only), and will last about two hours. They are divided into six chapters:
1) Action or Expression?
2) What is Prejudicial?
3) The Illegal War.
4) A Translation of a Translation of a Translation.
5) Intention & Incitement.
6) Nonsense in the English Language.
Members of the audience will be able to come and go during the readings as though it were a real trial. They will also be encouraged to comment after each chapter.

http://www.shoutcast.com/

search for the word "politics" in the search box on the top left of the screen. then click on the "tune in" button. Give it a try.

There is a limit of 5 listeners at one time due to bandwidth limitations but the shoutcast internet radio software allows the relaying of a radio stream by other servers running on other machines.

128kbit uplink allows 5 listeners at the minimum quality setting
(24kbps 22,2050khz mono )

We welcome anyone who is a bit computer savvy and not using their broadband uplink much, to start their your own relay of this internet radio station as an experiment in distributed community radio.

help reclaim the airwaves!! :)

just download shoucast, read the instructions in the config file of the server then run a copy of the shoutcast server on your machine. Edit the config file and use the url:
http://pirateradio.podzone.org:8000/
as your relay address.

you can google for further information on shoutcast relaying

Let us know if you set up a relay. This co-ordinated use of unused broadband bandwidth for internet radio transmission could easily and cheaply be done by other activist groups who want to run an internet station
