President Bush continues to violate Shannon airport

news report

US President returns to Shannon - what insults for the Irish people this time?
Crimes against humanity including torture.
When George Bush passed through Shannon airport on Tuesday morning last, he insulted the Irish people by reviewing US troops who were also passing through Shannon airport, in direct violation of Irish neutrality and international law. This is not something new of course. Cambodia and Laos were also neutral states in the 1960s and 1970s when the US government used B52 bombers, to kill hundreds of thousands of their people. The UN remained silent then, and is silent now on US crimes against humanity. Crimes against humanity including torture.
US President George W Bush is scheduled to make a return stop at Shannon airport possibly at 2am on Sat night Sunday morning 5 March 2006. When he passed through on his way to India and Afghanistan, it has been reported that the Co Clare Cardiac ambulance was hijacked to provide special medical reserve for George W Bush at Shannon. Unfortunately, a resident of Ennistimon had a severe heart attack on that night, and the Cardiac ambulance could not respond. Eventually, a normal ambulance was sent. The patient is still in intensive care. Bush is still in intensive luxury on Air force One.
George Bush should be either denied access to Ireland, or arrested as a war criminal whenever he touches down in Ireland. Well over 100,000 have been unlawfully killed in Iraq, over 40,000 of those killed were children.
The United States is also promoting and perpetrating torture at Guantanamo Bay prison, and using Shannon airport to transport prisoners to be further tortured in places such as Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and elsewhere. The CIA and US military are becoming too squeamish to do the torture themselves, or are afraid of being prosecuted in the United States later, so they export their torture.
Ireland is now heavily complicit in this torture process.
When Bush passed though on Tuesday morning last, he address US troops at Shannon in what amounted to gross insult to the Irish people, Irish sovereignty, and Irish so-called neutrality. Our complicit government actually provided a red carpet for Bush to walk on. This carpet at Shannon used be green, but now it is soaked in the blood of innocent Iraqi people.
I urge all people with any spark of humanity to come to Shannon in spite of the bitter cold on Sunday morning and express your opposition not only to George W Bush, but also to the cowardly behavior of the Irish Government in allowing Ireland and Shannon airport to be used for committing such atrocities.
Please pray also that no one in Co Clare will need the Cardiac Ambulance while it is on standby for George W Bush.
If you cannot get to Shannon airport on Sunday morning, please enquire about and protest about all the missing undocumented prisoners who have been moved between Guantanamo, European black-site prisons and torture prisons in places known and unknown. Dozens of prisoners are at immediate risk of being executed so that their eventual release will not “embarrass” the US government and its complicit allies including the Irish Government.
Don’t just be ashamed, do something about these dreadful crimes against humanity.
Edward Horgan
